2 Kings ; Chapter 19 verse 20-23
Isaiah Prophesies Sennacherib’s Fall
20 Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to Hezekiah: “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I have heard your prayer concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria. 21 This is the word that the Lord has spoken against him:
“‘Virgin Daughter Zion
despises you and mocks you.
Daughter Jerusalem
tosses her head as you flee.
22 Who is it you have ridiculed and blasphemed?
Against whom have you raised your voice
and lifted your eyes in pride?
Against the Holy One of Israel!
23 By your messengers
you have ridiculed the Lord.
And you have said,
“With my many chariots
I have ascended the heights of the mountains,
the utmost heights of Lebanon.
I have cut down its tallest cedars,
the choicest of its junipers.
I have reached its remotest parts,
the finest of its forests.
20 آموص کے بیٹے یسعیاہ نے یہ پیغام حزقیاہ کو بھیجا اس نے کہا ، “خداوند اسرائیل کا خدا یہ کہتا ہے :’ تم نے اسور کے بادشا ہ سخیر یب کے خلاف مجھ سے دعا کی میں نے تم کو سنا۔”
21 “یہ خداوند کا پیغا م سخیریب کے متعلق ہے
صیون کی کنواری بیٹی نہیں سوچتی کہ تم اہم ہو۔
وہ تمہا را مذاق اڑاتی ہے
یروشلم کی بیٹی تمہا ری پیٹھ پیچھے سر ہلا تی ہے۔
22 لیکن تم نے کس کی بے عزتی کی کس کا مذاق اُڑا یا؟
کس کے خلاف تم نے باتیں کیں اور تکبر سے اپنی آنکھیں اوپر اٹھا ئیں؟ ”
مقدس اسرائیل کے خلاف!
23 تم نے اپنے خبررسانوں کو خداوند کی بے عزتی کرنے کو بھیجا۔
تم نے کہا، “میں کئی رتھوں کے ساتھ اونچی چوٹی پر آیا۔ میں لبنان میں اندر تک آیا۔
میں نے اونچے صنوبر کے درختوں کو اور لبنان کے بہترین فر کے درختوں کو کاٹ ڈا لا۔
میں لبنان کی اونچی جگہ اور بہترین جنگل تک گیا۔
My point of view about above verses
God was with Hezekiah king as he followed Lord’s commands – There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah
King Hezekiah tore his clothes because of the word of field commander of king Assyria sent to ridicule God but Lord said don’t be afraid – when he hears a certain report he will return to his country and there I will cut him down with the sword
God heard Hezekiak prayer concerning king of Assyria and replied as under through Isaiah
God remains with people and cares for them who obey Him and worship Him whole heartedly
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
