2 Chronicles ; Chapter 12 verse 1-5
Shishak Attacks Jerusalem
After Rehoboam’s position as king was established and he had become strong, he and all Israel with him abandoned the law of the Lord. 2 Because they had been unfaithful to the Lord, Shishak king of Egypt attacked Jerusalem in the fifth year of King Rehoboam. 3 With twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen and the innumerable troops of Libyans, Sukkites and Cushites that came with him from Egypt, 4 he captured the fortified cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem.
5 Then the prophet Shemaiah came to Rehoboam and to the leaders of Judah who had assembled in Jerusalem for fear of Shishak, and he said to them, “This is what the Lord says, ‘You have abandoned me; therefore, I now abandon you to Shishak.’”
12 رحبعام ایک طاقتور بادشا ہ ہو گیا۔اس نے اپنی حکومت کو بھی طاقتور بنایا۔تب رحبعام اور سبھی بنی اسرائیلی خداوند کی شریعت کی تعمیل کرنے سے رُک گئے۔ 2 رحبعام کی بادشاہت کے پانچویں سال سیسق نے یروشلم پر حملہ کیا۔سیسق مصر کا بادشا ہ تھا۔ یہ اس لئے ہو ا کہ رحبعام اور یہوداہ کے لوگ خداوند کے وفادار نہیں تھے۔ 3 سیسق کے پاس ۱۲۰۰ رتھ اور ۶۰۰۰۰ گھوڑ سوار اور بے شمار فوج تھی۔سیسق کی بڑی فوج لیبیا کے سپا ہی ،سکیتی سپاہی اور اتھوپیائی سپا ہی تھے۔ 4 سیسق نے یہوداہ کے طاقتور شہروں کو شکست دی تب سیسق نے اس کی فوج کو یروشلم لا یا۔ 5 تب سمعیاہ نبی رحبعام اور یہوداہ کے قائدین کے پاس آیا۔یہوداہ کے قائدین ایک ساتھ یروشلم میں جمع ہو ئے۔ کیوں کہ وہ سب سیسق سے ڈرے ہو ئے تھے۔سمعیاہ نے رحبعام اور یہوداہ کے قائدین سے کہا، “خداوند یہ کہتا ہے : ’ رحبعام ! تم نے اور یہوداہ کے لوگو ں نے مجھے چھوڑدیا اور میرے احکامات کی تعمیل سے انکار کیا اس لئے میں اب تمہیں سیسق کا سامنا کرنے کے لئے چھوڑتا ہوں۔”
My point of view about above verses
When Israelites abandoned Lord during Rehoboam reign so Egypt king attacked them and Lord said I now abandon you to Shishak – king of Egypt
If we abondon God - GOD ALSO ABONDON US
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
