2 Chronicles ; Chapter 20 verse 6-9
Jehoshaphat Defeats Moab and Ammon
“Lord, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you. 7 Our God, did you not drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend? 8 They have lived in it and have built in it a sanctuary for your Name, saying, 9 ‘If calamity comes upon us, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, we will stand in your presence before this temple that bears your Name and will cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us.’
6 اس نے کہا ، “اے ہمارے آبا ؤ اجدادا کے خدا وند خدا تو جنّت میں خدا ہے ! تو سبھی سلطنتوں میں تو سبھی قو موں پر حکو مت کرتا ہے ! تو اقتدار اور طا قت رکھتا ہے ! کو ئی آدمی تیرے خلاف نہیں کھڑا ہو سکتا ! 7 تو ہمارا خدا ہے ! تو نے اس مملکت میں رہنے والوں کو اسے چھو ڑنے پر مجبور کیا یہ تو نے اپنے بنی اسرائیلیوں کے سامنے کیا تو نے یہ زمین ہمیشہ کے لئے ابراہیم کی نسلوں کو دی ہے۔ ابراہیم تیرا دوست تھا۔ 8 ابراہیم کی نسل اس ملک میں رہتی تھی اور انہوں نے تیرا ایک گھر تیرے نام پر بنا یا۔ 9 انہوں نے کہا ، “اگر ہم لوگوں پر آفتیں آئیں گی جیسے تلوار ، سزائیں ، بیماری یا قحط تو ہم اس گھر کے سامنے کھڑے ہونگے اور تمہارے سامنے ہوں گے۔ ہم تم کو پکاریں گے جب ہم مصیبت میں ہوں گے پھر تم ہماری سن کر ہمیں بچاؤ گے۔”
My point of view about above verses
Lord was with Jehosaphat as he followed the ways of his father David and obeyed God’s commands and decrees
God people seek help from God in situations of distress - They cry for help and God listens to His people
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
