Ezra ; Chapter 8 verse 21- 23
21 There, by the Ahava Canal, I proclaimed a fast, so that we might humble ourselves before our God and ask him for a safe journey for us and our children, with all our possessions. 22 I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen to protect us from enemies on the road, because we had told the king, “The gracious hand of our God is on everyone who looks to him, but his great anger is against all who forsake him.” 23 So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he answered our prayer
21 وہاں اہاوا ندی کے قریب میں ( عزرا ) نے اعلان کیا کہ ہمیں خودکو اپنے خدا کے سامنے خاکسار ہو نے کے لئے روزہ رکھنا چا ہئے۔اور ہمیں خدا سے اپنے بچوں کے لئے محفوظ سفر کے لئے دُعا کرنی چا ہئے اور جو چیزیں ہمارے ساتھ ہیں ان کی حفاظت کیلئے بھی اس سے دعا مانگنی چا ہئے۔ 22 میں دشمنوں سے جو کہ سڑک پر تھے اپنی حفاظت کر نے کے لئے بادشاہ ارتخششتا سے سپا ہیوں اور گھو ڑوں کے مانگنے میں شرمندگی محسوس کرتا تھا۔ اور یہی وجہ تھی کہ میں نے اس طرح سے محسوس کیا کیوں کہ میں نے بادشاہ سے کہا تھا ، “ہمارا خدا ہر اس آدمی کے ساتھ ہے جو اس پر یقین رکھتا ہے اور خدا ہر اس آدمی پر غصہ ہوتا ہے جو اس سے منھ پھیر لیتا ہے۔” 23 اس لئے ہم لوگوں نے اپنے سفر کے متعلق روزہ رکھا اور خدا سے دعا کی اس نے ہم لوگوں کی دعا کو سُنا۔
My point of view about above verses
God moved the heart of king of Persia to built a temple for him in Jerusalem
God moved the hearts of heads of Judah and the priests and Levites - & they went to build the house of Lord in Jerusalem
God moved the heart of King Dairus to rebuilt the house of God in Jerusalem
King Cyrus issued a decree to rebuilt the house of Lord and made arrangent of finances to build the House of God
King Dara of Persia issued a decree to start builting the Temple of God of heaven
Ezra (a teacher well versed in the Law of Moses) from descendants of Aaron the priest went from Babylon to built the temple of Lord. King granted him everything as the hand of Lord was on him
Its God always who moved hearts of the people of all the nations of the world
God use kings and governments to do good to His people
Ezra gathered leaders from Israel to go to Jerusalem with him to built the temple of Lord – God moved the hearts of King and his officials towards Ezra to fulfil the cause of God
Ezra prayed for safe journey from Babylon to Jerusalem with children and all possessions and God answered his prayers
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
