Jeremiah 2, verse 24-25
Source: Bible New International Version
Israel Forsakes God
24 a wild donkey accustomed to the desert,
sniffing the wind in her craving—
in her heat who can restrain her?
Any males that pursue her need not tire themselves;
at mating time they will find her.
25 Do not run until your feet are bare
and your throat is dry.
But you said, ‘It’s no use!
I love foreign gods,
and I must go after them.’
My point of view about above verses
God said long ago you have forsaken me I planted you as good wine but you turned into a corrupt wild vine – although you wash yourself with soap but stain of your guiltiness is still before me – declares the sovereign Lord
You can’t say that you are not defiled as how you are behaving in valley running here and there
God told don’t run until your feet are bare and your throat is dry – but you said its useless & you run to foreign gods like wild donkey having craving to fulfil her desires
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
