Leviticus 19 verse 33-36
33 “‘When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. 34 The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.
35 “‘Do not use dishonest standards when measuring length, weight or quantity. 36 Use honest scales and honest weights, an honest ephah and an honest hin. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt.
My point of view about above verses
God is sovereign Lord and wants his highest level of creation (means human beings) to keep his laws for their own well -being
God is telling Israelite that I am your God who brought you out of Egypt where you were mistreated by Egyptians but you are not supposed to do that - you have to love foreigners living in your land as you love your brethren
And also live an honest life - use your measuring weights honestly - Ephah and hin are weighs for dry and liquid measures respectively used in land of Israel
God is instructing everyone who is reading his words to obey the laws and be blessed - Actually these laws lead us to live a self-giving life on earth
I am the Lord
May God help us to understand when God says I am the Lord and whatever we do on this earth is only by his given authority - & we are not supposed to misuse it in our relationships with fellow human beings - You consider yourself a mere man - I am the Lord
May God inclined us to obey his words to lead our lives the way God wants us to live on this earth -
May God bless all those who are obeying His commandments
