Leviticus 27 verse 26- 29
Redeeming What Is the Lord’s
26 “‘No one, however, may dedicate the firstborn of an animal, since the firstborn already belongs to the Lord; whether an ox or a sheep, it is the Lord’s. 27 If it is one of the unclean animals, it may be bought back at its set value, adding a fifth of the value to it. If it is not redeemed, it is to be sold at its set value.
28 “‘But nothing that a person owns and devotes to the Lord—whether a human being or an animal or family land—may be sold or redeemed; everything so devoted is most holy to the Lord.
29 “‘No person devoted to destruction may be ransomed; they are to be put to death.
(26)پر فقط چَوپایوں کے پہلوٹھوں کو جو پہلوٹھے ہونے کی وجہ سے خُداوند کے ٹھہر چُکے ہیں کوئی شخص مُقدّس قرار نہ دے خواہ وہ بَیل ہو یا بھیڑ بکری ۔ وہ تو خُداوند ہی کا ہے۔
(27)پر اگر وہ کِسی ناپاک جانور کا پہلوٹھا ہو تو وہ شخص تیری ٹھہرائی ہُوئی قِیمت کا پانچواں حِصّہ قِیمت میں اَور مِلا کر اُس کا فِدیہ دے اور اُسے چُھڑائے اور اگر اُس کا فِدیہ نہ دِیا جائے تو وہ تیری ٹھہرائی ہُوئی قِیمت پر بیچا جائے۔
(28)تَو بھی کوئی مخصُوص کی ہُوئی چِیز جِسے کوئی شخص اپنے سارے مال میں سے خُداوند کے لِئے مخصُوص کرے خواہ وہ اُس کا آدمی یا جانور یا مورُوثی زمِین ہو بیچی نہ جائے اور نہ اُس کا فِدیہ دِیا جائے ۔ ہر ایک مخصُوص کی ہُوئی چِیز خُداوند کے لِئے نِہایت پاک ہے۔
(29)اگر آدمِیوں میں سے کوئی مخصُوص کِیا جائے تو اُس کا فِدیہ نہ دِیا جائے ۔ وہ ضرُور جان سے مارا جائے۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Israelite that all first born of clean animals belongs to God - so no one vows about first born of clean animals as its already belong to God - However for unclean animals if a person vows- he can redeem it by adding 1/5th of the value in the set value
However if a person devote something like a man, or an animal or a piece of land to God - it can't be sold or redeemed as it is most holy to God
If a person is for destruction - no one come forward to redeem it as it is destined by God
Let God give us wisdom to understand his word and apply it in our lives
We need to live in this world as God wants us to live - we have to do what he is telling us to do- as it is in our advantage in the long run
