Numbers 13 ; verse 1-16
Exploring Canaan
The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each ancestral tribe send one of its leaders.”
3 So at the Lord’s command Moses sent them out from the Desert of Paran. All of them were leaders of the Israelites. 4 These are their names:
•from the tribe of Reuben, Shammua son of Zakkur;
•5 from the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat son of Hori;
•6 from the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;
•7 from the tribe of Issachar, Igal son of Joseph;
•8 from the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea son of Nun;
•9 from the tribe of Benjamin, Palti son of Raphu;
•10 from the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel son of Sodi;
•11 from the tribe of Manasseh (a tribe of Joseph), Gaddi son of Susi;
•12 from the tribe of Dan, Ammiel son of Gemalli;
•13 from the tribe of Asher, Sethur son of Michael;
•14 from the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi son of Vophsi;
•15 from the tribe of Gad, Geuel son of Maki.
•16 These are the names of the men Moses sent to explore the land. (Moses gave Hoshea son of Nun the name Joshua.)
1اور خُداوند نے مُوسیٰؔ سے کہا کہ 2تُو آدمِیوں کو بھیج کہ وہ مُلکِ کنعاؔن کا جو مَیں بنی اِسرائیل کو دیتا ہُوں حال دریافت کریں۔ اُن کے باپ دادا کے ہر قبِیلہ سے ایک آدمی بھیجنا جو اُن کے ہاں کا رئِیس ہو۔ 3چُنانچہ مُوسیٰؔ نے خُداوند کے اِرشاد کے مُوافِق دشتِ فارانؔ سے اَیسے آدمی روانہ کِئے جو بنی اِسرائیل کے سردار تھے۔ 4اُن کے یہ نام تھے۔
رُوبنؔ کے قبِیلہ سے زکُورؔ کا بیٹا سَمّوؔعَ۔
5اور شمعُوؔن کے قبِیلہ سے حورؔی کا بیٹا سافطؔ۔
6اور یہُوداؔہ کے قبِیلہ سے یفُنّہؔ کا بیٹا کالِبؔ۔
7اور اِشکارؔ کے قبِیلہ سے یُوسفؔ کا بیٹا اِجالؔ۔
8اور اِفرائِیمؔ کے قبِیلہ سے نُونؔ کا بیٹا ہوسِیعؔ۔
9اور بِنیمِینؔ کے قبِیلہ سے رفُوؔ کا بیٹا فَلتیؔ۔
10اور زبُولُونؔ کے قبِیلہ سے سودؔی کا بیٹا جدّی ایلؔ۔
11اور یُوسفؔ کے قبِیلہ یعنی منَسّیؔ کے قبِیلہ سے سُوسیؔ
کا بیٹا جدّؔی۔
12اور دانؔ کے قبِیلہ سے جملّیؔ کا بیٹا عَمی ایلؔ۔
13اور آشرؔ کے قبِیلہ سے مِیکااؔیل کا بیٹا ستُورؔ۔
14اور نفتالیؔ کے قبِیلہ سے وُفسیؔ کا بیٹا نخبیؔ۔
15اور جدؔ کے قبِیلہ سے ماکیؔ کا بیٹا جیُوایلؔ۔
16یِہی اُن لوگوں کے نام ہیں جِن کو مُوسیٰؔ نے مُلک کا حال دریافت کرنے کو بھیجا تھا اور نُونؔ کے بیٹے ہوسِیعؔ کا نام مُوسیٰؔ نے یشُوعؔ رکھّا۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Moses send men from each tribe to explore the land of Canaan which I am giving to Israelites - so Moses 12 men one from each tribe to explore land going to be possessed later -
God want us to be a partner in his decision making - only we need to trust him that what he is doing is good for us
Let God give us wisdom to understand His word and help us to apply it in our lives
