Numbers 27 ; verse 15-21
Joshua to Succeed Moses
15 Moses said to the Lord, 16 “May the Lord, the God who gives breath to all living things, appoint someone over this community 17 to go out and come in before them, one who will lead them out and bring them in, so the Lord’s people will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”
18 So the Lord said to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit of leadership, and lay your hand on him. 19 Have him stand before Eleazar the priest and the entire assembly and commission him in their presence. 20 Give him some of your authority so the whole Israelite community will obey him. 21 He is to stand before Eleazar the priest, who will obtain decisions for him by inquiring of the Urim before the Lord. At his command he and the entire community of the Israelites will go out, and at his command they will come in.”
15 موسیٰ نے خداوند سے کہا ، 16 “خداوندخدا ہے وہی جا نتا ہے کہ لوگ کیا سوچ رہے ہیں۔ اے خداوند میری دُعا ہے کہ تُو ان لوگوں کے لئے ایک قا ئد چُن۔ 17 میں دُعا کرتا ہو ں کہ خداوند ایک ایسا قا ئد چنے گا جو آمد و رفت میں ان لوگوں کی رہنما ئی بھیڑوں کی طرح کرے گا۔ تب خداوند کے لوگ بغیر چروا ہے کی بھیڑو ں جیسے نہیں ہو ں گے۔”
18 اس لئے خداوند نے موسیٰ سے کہا ، “نون کا بیٹا یشوع، ایک حوصلہ مند آدمی ہے اس کو لے اور اس پر اپنا ہا تھ رکھ۔” 19 اسے الیعزر کا ہن اور پو ری جماعت کے سامنے کھڑے ہو نے کو کہو۔ تب اسے نیا قا ئد بنا ؤ۔
20 “اپنا کچھ اختیار اسے دے تا کہ ہر کو ئی اس کا حکم مانے گا۔ 21 اگر یشوع کو ئی خاص فیصلہ کرنا چا ہے گا تو اسے کا ہن الیعزر کے پاس جانا ہو گا۔ الیعزر اُور یم کا استعمال خداوندکے جواب کو جاننے کے لئے کریگا۔ تب یشوع اور بنی اسرا ئیل وہ کریں گے جو خدا کہے گا۔ اگر خدا کہے گا ، ’ جنگ کرنے جا ؤ۔‘ تو وہ جنگ کرنے جا ئیں گے اور اگر خدا کہے ’ گھر جا ؤ ‘ تو گھر جا ئیں گے۔”
My point of view about above verses
God told Moses take Joshua son of Nun who has spirit of leadership and lay your hand on him and let him stand before the priest Eleazar and entire community – give him some of your authority and whole community will obey him. He will stand before the priest Eleazer who will obtain decision for him by inquiring of the Urim before the Lord and at his command the entire Israelites community will go out and come in
only listening is not which works with God rather to obey Him
Let God give us wisdom to understand His word and help us to apply it in our lives
