Numbers 30 ; verse 9-16
Vows
9 “Any vow or obligation taken by a widow or divorced woman will be binding on her.
10 “If a woman living with her husband makes a vow or obligates herself by a pledge under oath 11 and her husband hears about it but says nothing to her and does not forbid her, then all her vows or the pledges by which she obligated herself will stand. 12 But if her husband nullifies them when he hears about them, then none of the vows or pledges that came from her lips will stand. Her husband has nullified them, and the Lord will release her. 13 Her husband may confirm or nullify any vow she makes or any sworn pledge to deny herself. 14 But if her husband says nothing to her about it from day to day, then he confirms all her vows or the pledges binding on her. He confirms them by saying nothing to her when he hears about them. 15 If, however, he nullifies them some time after he hears about them, then he must bear the consequences of her wrongdoing.”
16 These are the regulations the Lord gave Moses concerning relationships between a man and his wife, and between a father and his young daughter still living at home.
9 “کو ئی بیوہ یا طلاق شدہ عورت خاص وعدہ کرتی ہے اگر وہ ایسا کرتی ہے تو اسے بالکل اپنے وعدہ کے مطا بق کرنا چا ہئے۔
10 ایک شادی شدہ عورت خداوند کو کچھ چڑھانے کا وعدہ کر سکتی ہے یا ممانعت سے اپنے آپ پر پا بندی عا ئد کر سکتی ہے۔ 11 اگر اس کا شوہر اس کے کئے گئے وعدہ کے متعلق سنتا ہے اور اسے اس کے وعدہ کو پو را کرنے دیتا ہے تو اسے بالکل اپنے کئے گئے وعدہ کو پو را کرنا چا ہئے۔ 12 لیکن اگر اس کا شوہر اس کے کئے گئے وعدہ کے بارے میں سنتا ہے اور اس کا وعدہ پو را کرنے سے انکار کرتا ہے تو اسے اپنے کئے گئے وعدہ کو پو را نہیں کرنا پڑے گا
اس پر کو ئی ذمّہ داری نہیں ہو گی کہ اس نے کیا وعدہ کیا تھا۔ اس کا شوہر اس وعدہ کو رد کرسکتا ہے اگر اس کا شوہر وعدہ کو رد کرتا ہے تو خداوند اسے معاف کرے گا۔ 13 ایک شادی شدہ عورت خداوند کو کچھ چڑھانے کا وعدہ کر سکتی ہے یا ممانعت سے اپنے آپ پر پا بندی عا ئد کر سکتی ہے۔ یا وہ خدا کو کو ئی خاص وعدہ کر سکتی ہے۔ اس کا شوہر چا ہے تو اس وعدہ کو پو را کرنے کی اجازت دے سکتا ہے یا وہ اسے مسترد کر سکتا ہے۔ 14 شوہر اپنی بیوی کو کیسے اپنا وعدہ پو را کرنے دیگا ؟ اگر وہ کئے گئے وعدہ کے بارے میں سنتا ہے اور نہیں روکتا ہے تو عورت کو اپنے کئے گئے وعدہ کے مطا بق کام کو پورا کرنا چا ہئے۔ 15 لیکن اگر شوہر کئے گئے وعدہ کے بارے میں سنتا ہے اور انہیں روکتا ہے تو اسکے وعدہ کوتوڑ نے کی جواب دہی شوہر پر ہو گی۔”
16 یہی حکم ہے جسے خداوند نے موسیٰ کو دیا ہے۔ یہ حکم ایک آدمی اور اس کی بیوی کے بارے میں ہے ، اور ایک باپ اور اس کی اُس بیٹی کے متعلق ہے جو اپنی جوانی میں ہو اور اپنے باپ کے گھر میں رہ رہی ہو۔
My point of view about above verses
A vow taken by a widow or divorced woman should be fulfilled by them
A young woman who is living with her husband makes a vow and if her husband hears that and keeps silent then she has to fulfill her vow. But if her husband forbids her then none of her obligations will stand and Lord will release her because her husband has forbidden her or nullifies the vow. However if husband nullifies her after sometime then he must bear the consequence of her wrongdoing
God wants us to fulfil our vows and offer what we have committed for our vows
These verses shows the importance of husbands like fathers - He like fathers can stop her wife to not take a vow.
Only listening is not which works with God rather to obey what He commanded,
Let God give us wisdom to understand His word and help us to apply it in our lives
