Deuteronomy 17 ; verse 2-7
2 If a man or woman living among you in one of the towns the Lord gives you is found doing evil in the eyes of the Lord your God in violation of his covenant, 3 and contrary to my command has worshiped other gods, bowing down to them or to the sun or the moon or the stars in the sky, 4 and this has been brought to your attention, then you must investigate it thoroughly. If it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, 5 take the man or woman who has done this evil deed to your city gate and stone that person to death. 6 On the testimony of two or three witnesses a person is to be put to death, but no one is to be put to death on the testimony of only one witness. 7 The hands of the witnesses must be the first in putting that person to death, and then the hands of all the people. You must purge the evil from among you.
بُت پرستی کی سزا
2 “تم ان شہروں میں کو ئی بُری بات ہو نے کی خبر سن سکتے ہو جنہیں خداوندتمہا را خدا تمہیں دے رہا ہے تم یہ سُن سکتے ہو کہ تم میں سے کسی عورت یا مرد نے خداوند کے خلا ف گنا ہ کیا ہے تم یہ سن سکتے ہو کہ انہوں نے خداوند سے معاہدہ تو ڑا ہے۔ 3 میرے احکاما ت کے خلا ف ہو سکتا ہے انہوں نے جھو ٹے دیو تا ؤں کی پرستش کی ہے۔ اور انکے آگے سجدہ کیا ہو۔ یا ہو سکتا ہے وہ سورج ، چاند یا کسی اور آسمانی چیزوں کی پرستش کی ہو۔ 4 اگر تم ایسی بُری خبر سنتے ہو تو تمہیں اس کی ہو شیاری سے دریافت کرنا چا ہئے تمہیں یہ معلوم کرنا چا ہئے کہ کیا یہ سچ ہے کہ یہ بھیانک کام حقیقت میں اسرائیل میں ہوا ہے اگر تم اسے ثابت کرو کہ یہ سچ ہے ، 5 تب تمہیں اس مرد یاعورت کو ضرور سزا دینی چا ہئے جس نے بُرا کام کیا ہے۔ تمہیں اس مرد یا عورت کو شہر کے دروازہ کے پاس عوام کی جگہ پر لے جانا چا ہئے اور اسے پتھروں سے مار ڈالنا چا ہئے۔
6 لیکن اگر ایک ہی گواہ یہ کہتا ہے کہ اس نے بُرا کام کیا ہے تو اسے موت کی سزا نہیں دی جائے گی۔ لیکن اگر دو یاتین گواہ یہ کہتے ہیں کہ یہ سچ ہے تو اس آدمی کو مار ڈالنا چا ہئے۔ 7 گواہوں کو پہلا پتھر اس آدمی کو مار نے کے لئے پھینکنا چا ہئے۔ تب دوسرے لوگوں کو اس کی موت آنے تک پتھر پھینکنا چا ہئے۔اسی طرح تمہیں اس بُرا ئی کو اپنے درمیا ن سے دور کرنا چا ہئے۔
My point of view about above verses
If a man or woman worship other gods like sun stars and moon, they must be put to death on testimony of two or three persons and not on testimony of one – The hand of the witness must be the first in putting the person to death and then the remaining people. In this way you can eliminate evil from among you
God does not want that His people be corrupted with idol worshipping of some fellow people so He orders to put them to death so that we can reap the blessings abundantly
If we remain faithful to God, He will never abandons us rather bless us with health and worldly blessings
Let God give us wisdom to understand His word and apply it in our lives - As this is the Word of God through which we recognize Him
