Deuteronomy 17 ; verse 14-17
The King
14 When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you and have taken possession of it and settled in it, and you say, “Let us set a king over us like all the nations around us,” 15 be sure to appoint over you a king the Lord your God chooses. He must be from among your fellow Israelites. Do not place a foreigner over you, one who is not an Israelite. 16 The king, moreover, must not acquire great numbers of horses for himself or make the people return to Egypt to get more of them, for the Lord has told you, “You are not to go back that way again.” 17 He must not take many wives, or his heart will be led astray. He must not accumulate large amounts of silver and gold.
بادشاہ کا انتخاب کیسے ہو
14 “تم اس سر زمین میں جا ؤ گے جسے خداوندتمہا را خدا تمہیں دے رہا ہے۔ تم اس ملک پر قبضہ کرو گے اور اس میں رہو گے۔ اور ہو سکتا ہے تم کہو گے۔’ ہم لوگوں کا بھی ایک بادشا ہ ہو گا۔جیسا کہ ہمارے اطراف کی قوموں میں ہے۔‘ 15 جب ایسا ہو تب تمہیں یقینی طئے کرنا چا ہئے کہ تم نے اسے ہی بادشاہ چُنا جسے خداوند انتخاب کرتا ہے۔ تمہا را بادشاہ تمہیں لوگوں میں سے ہونا چا ہئے۔ تمہیں غیر ملکی کو اپنا بادشاہ نہیں بنا نا چا ہئے۔ 16 بادشاہ کو کئی گھو ڑے اپنے لئے نہیں رکھنے چا ہئے۔ اسے لوگوں کو زیادہ گھو ڑے لانے کے لئے مصر نہیں بھیجنا چا ہئے کیوں کہ خداوند نے تم سے کہا تھا، ’تمہیں اس راستے پر پھر واپس نہیں جانا چا ہئے۔‘ 17 بادشاہ کو بہت بیویاں نہیں رکھنی چا ہئے۔ کیوں کہ یہ اسے خداوند سے دور ہٹانے کا سبب بنے گا۔ اور بادشاہ کو سونے چاندی سے اپنے کو دولتمند نہیں بنا نا چا ہئے۔
My point of view about above verses
God told them if you set a king over you he must not be foreigner but an Israelites from among you, he must not take many wives or his heart will led astray- he must not acquire great number of horses for himself or make people return to Egypt – you have not to go back that way again – he must not accumulate large amount of silver and gold
God tells us who should be king on his people,
If we remain faithful to God, He will never abandons us rather bless us with health and worldly blessings
Let God give us wisdom to understand His word and apply it in our lives - As this is the Word of God through which we recognize Him
