Deuteronomy 22 ; verse 13-21
Marriage Violations
13 If a man takes a wife and, after sleeping with her, dislikes her 14 and slanders her and gives her a bad name, saying, “I married this woman, but when I approached her, I did not find proof of her virginity,” 15 then the young woman’s father and mother shall bring to the town elders at the gate proof that she was a virgin. 16 Her father will say to the elders, “I gave my daughter in marriage to this man, but he dislikes her. 17 Now he has slandered her and said, ‘I did not find your daughter to be a virgin.’ But here is the proof of my daughter’s virginity.” Then her parents shall display the cloth before the elders of the town, 18 and the elders shall take the man and punish him. 19 They shall fine him a hundred shekels of silver and give them to the young woman’s father, because this man has given an Israelite virgin a bad name. She shall continue to be his wife; he must not divorce her as long as he lives.
20 If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the young woman’s virginity can be found, 21 she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done an outrageous thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. You must purge the evil from among you.
شادی کے قوانین
13 “کو ئی آدمی کسی لڑکی سے شادی کرے اور اس سے جنسی تعلق کرے تب وہ فیصلہ کرے کہ وہ اسے پسند نہیں ہے۔ 14 وہ جھو ٹ کہہ سکتا ہے اور کہہ سکتا ہے کہ میں نے اس عورت سے شادی کی لیکن جب ہم نے جسمانی تعلق قائم کیا تو مجھے معلوم ہوا کہ وہ پاک دامن کنواری نہیں ہے۔ اس کے خلاف ایسا کہنے پر لوگ عورت کے بارے میں بُرا خیال کر سکتے ہیں۔ 15 اگر ایسا ہو تا ہے تو لڑکی کے ماں باپ کو اس کے کنوارے پن کے ثبوت کو شہر کے پھاٹک ( بیٹھک وا لی جگہ ) پر قائدین کے سا منے لا نا چا ہئے۔ 16 لڑکی کے باپ کو شہر کے قائدین سے کہنا چا ہئے کہ میں نے اپنی بیٹی کو اس آدمی کی بیوی ہو نے کے لئے دیا لیکن وہ اب اسے نہیں چاہتا۔ 17 اس آدمی نے میری بیٹی کے خلا ف جھو ٹ بولا ہے۔ اور اس نے کہا ، ’میں نے تمہا ری بیٹی کو پاک دامن کنواری نہیں پا یا۔لیکن
یہاں میری بیٹی کی پاکدامن کنواری پن کا ثبوت ہے۔‘تب لڑکی کے ماں باپ شہر کے قائدین کو کپڑے [a] دکھا ئینگے۔ 18 تب وہاں کے شہر کے قائدین اس آدمی کو پکڑیں گے اور اسے سزا دیں گے۔ 19 وہ اس پر ۱۰۰ مثقال چاندی جرمانہ کریں گے اس چاندی کو لڑکی کے باپ کو دیں گے کیوں کہ اس کے شوہرنے ایک اسرا ئیلی کنواری لڑکی پر داغ لگا یا ہے اور وہ لڑکی اس آدمی کی بیوی بنی رہے گی اسے اپنی ساری زندگی اس کو طلا ق نہیں دینی چا ہئے۔ 20 “لیکن جو باتیں شوہرنے اپنی بیوی کے بارے میں کہیں وہ سچ ہو سکتی ہیں بیوی کے ماں باپ کے پاس یہ ثبوت نہیں ہو سکتا کہ لڑکی کنواری تھی اگر ایسا ہو تا ہے تو ، 21 شہر کے قائدین اس لڑکی کو اس کے ماں باپ کے گھر لا ئیں گے تب شہر کے قائدین اسے پتھر سے مار ڈا لیں گے۔ کیونکہ یہ ایک شرم کی بات ہے کہ ایک اسرا ئیلی لڑکی اپنے باپ کے گھر میں جب وہ وہاں رہتی تھی فاحشہ جیسی حرکت کی تھی۔ تمہیں بُرا ئی کو اپنے لوگوں کے درمیان سے نکال دینا چا ہئے۔
My point of view about above verses
If a man marries a woman and later claims that she is not virgin then her father and mother should bring the proof of her virginity to elders and display the cloth before the elders of the town – then elders shall take the man and punish him – they shall fine him 100 shekels of silver and give them to young woman father because this man has defame an Israelite virgin. She shall continue to be his wife and he must not divorce her as long as he lives – but if charge is true then the men of her town shall stone her to death as she has done an outrageous thing in Israelites – and by this way you must eliminate the evil among you
God wants us to do things wisely and responsibly so that everything goes well with us - If we do something wrong then punishments should be there to eliminate evils completely from our societies / communities - These are the laws given by God and we all have to follow
May God give us wisdom to understand his word and apply it in our lives
