Deuteronomy 28 ; verse 20-24
Curses for Disobedience
20 The Lord will send on you curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking him. 21 The Lord will plague you with diseases until he has destroyed you from the land you are entering to possess. 22 The Lord will strike you with wasting disease, with fever and inflammation, with scorching heat and drought, with blight and mildew, which will plague you until you perish. 23 The sky over your head will be bronze, the ground beneath you iron. 24 The Lord will turn the rain of your country into dust and powder; it will come down from the skies until you are destroyed
20 “اگر تم بُرے کام کرو گے اور اپنے خداوند کو چھو ڑ دو گے تو تم پر عذاب ہو گا۔ تم جو کرو گے اس میں تمہیں ما یوسی اور پریشانی ہو گی۔ وہ اسے اس وقت تک کرے گا جب تک تم جلدی سے اور پو ری طرح سے تباہ نہیں ہو جا تے۔ 21 خداوند تم لوگوں پر بھیانک بیما ری اس وقت تک لا ئیگا۔ جب تک تم اس ملک میں ختم نہ ہو جا ؤ جس کو تم لے رہے ہو۔ 22 خداوند تمہیں بیما ری میں ، بخار اور سوجن میں مبتلا کر کے سزا دیگا۔خداوند تمہا رے پاس بھیا نک گرمی بھیجے گا اور تمہا ے ہاں بارش نہیں ہو گی۔ تمہا ری فصلیں گرمی اور بیماری سے تباہ ہو جا ئیں گی۔ تم پر آفتیں اس وقت تک آئیں گی جب تک تم مر نہیں جاتے۔ 23 آسمان کانسے کی مانند ہو گا اور تمہا رے نیچے زمین لو ہے کی طرح ہو گی۔ 24 بارش کی بجائے خداوند تمہا رے پاس آسمان سے ریت اور گرد غبار بھیجے گا یہ تم پر اس وقت تک آئے گی جب تک تم تباہ نہیں ہو جا تے۔
My point of view about above verses
God told when you entered the land I promised to give you and have crossed Jordan – set up some large stones on Mount Ebal and coat them with plaster and write on them all the words of this law –
God want us that His laws and decrees which He gave should be before our eyes all the time so that we are inclined to implement to live a happy and joyful life
Following blessings and curses has to be pronounced from Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal respectively – by Israelites tribes
God told about curses if you not obey your Lord – you will remain confused and rebuked, you will ruin because of your evil, you will have diseases until you perish, you will have natural disaster in the place you are living, earth will be like iron, there will be dust instead of rain - this all will happen until you destroyed completely
How terrible it is for mankind to stand against God, their days and nights will be cursed and everything will be cursed what they are doing
As people of God we have to be resposible for our actions - if we obey His commandments, there are blessings for us - otherwise curses
Our God wants us to spend a joyful life on earth, only we need to follow what He says and believe me there is happiness around us - Righteous acts brings happiness for us - Lets do and enjoy life
-These are the orders given by God for our ultimate good and we all have to follow
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives
