Deuteronomy 28 ; verse 53-57
Curses for Disobedience
53 Because of the suffering your enemy will inflict on you during the siege, you will eat the fruit of the womb, the flesh of the sons and daughters the Lord your God has given you. 54 Even the most gentle and sensitive man among you will have no compassion on his own brother or the wife he loves or his surviving children, 55 and he will not give to one of them any of the flesh of his children that he is eating. It will be all he has left because of the suffering your enemy will inflict on you during the siege of all your cities. 56 The most gentle and sensitive woman among you—so sensitive and gentle that she would not venture to touch the ground with the sole of her foot—will begrudge the husband she loves and her own son or daughter 57 the afterbirth from her womb and the children she bears. For in her dire need she intends to eat them secretly because of the suffering your enemy will inflict on you during the siege of your cities.
53 جب تک تمہا را دشمن تمہا رے شہر کا محاصرہ کئے رہے گا اس وقت تک تم بڑی مشکل میں ہو گے۔ تم اتنے بھو کے ہو گے کہ اپنے بچوں کو بھی کھا جا ؤ گے۔ تم اپنے بیٹے اور بیٹیوں کا گوشت کھا ؤ گے جنہیں خداوند تمہا رے خدا نے تمہیں دیئے ہیں۔
54 “حتیٰ کہ تم میں سب سے شریف اور مہربان آدمی بھی ظالم ہو جائے گا۔ اور اپنے خاندان اور اپنی بیوی جسے وہ سب سے زیادہ پیار کرتا ہے اور بچے ہو ئے بچوں کے ساتھ بہت ظلم کا برتا ؤ کرے گا۔ 55 اس کے پاس کچھ بھی کھانے کو نہیں ہو گا۔ اس لئے وہ اپنے بچوں کو کھا ئے گا لیکن وہ اپنے خاندان کے باقی لوگوں کو کچھ بھی نہیں دے گا۔ کیوں کہ تمہا رے شہروں کے خلاف آنے وا لے دشمن اتنا زیادہ نقصان پہنچا ئیں گے۔
56 “حتیٰ کہ تمہا رے درمیا ن کی سب سے شریف اور رحم دل عورت بھی ظالم ہو جا ئے گی۔ ہو سکتا ہے کہ وہ بہت ہی شریف اور جان نثار عورت ہو جو کبھی اپنا پیر بھی زمین پر نہ رکھی ہو لیکن وہ اپنے شوہر کے لئے ظالم ہو جا ئے گی جس سے وہ بہت زیادہ محبت کرتی تھی۔ وہ اپنے بیٹے اور بیٹیوں کے لئے بھی ظالم ہو جا ئے گی۔ 57 وہ اپنے ہی نوزائید بچے کی آنول کو کھا ئے گی اور اس بچے کو بھی جسے وہ پیدا کرے گی۔ وہ انہیں پوشیدہ طور سے کھا ئے گی۔ یہ سب کچھ اس وقت ہو گا جب تمہا رے دشمن تمہا رے شہروں کا محاصرہ کریں گے اور تمہیں پریشانی میں مبتلا کریں گے
My point of view about above verses
God told when you entered the land I promised to give you and have crossed Jordan – set up some large stones on Mount Ebal and coat them with plaster and write on them all the words of this law –
God want us that His laws and decrees which He gave should be before our eyes all the time so that we are inclined to implement to live a happy and joyful life
Following blessings and curses has to be pronounced from Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal respectively – by Israelites tribes
God told about curses if you do not obey your Lord – a strong nation will come from far to besige your cities and devour your crops and live stock, you will have no new grain, and vine and olives, you will be ruined completely by that nation.
You will eat your own sons and daughters and will be cruel towards each other, husbands towards their wives and vice versa
So if people are in trouble in their own land and their enemies are invading them - it means they are not listening / obeying God and in turn suffering as a punishment from God
How terrible it is for mankind to stand against God, their days and nights will be cursed and everything will be cursed whatever they are doing
As people of God we have to be resposible for our actions - if we obey His commandments, there are blessings for us - otherwise curses
Our God wants us to spend a joyful life on earth, only we need to follow what He says and believe me there is happiness around us - Righteous acts brings happiness for us - Lets do and enjoy life
-These are the orders given by God for our ultimate good and we all have to follow
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives
