Judges; Chapter 7 Verse 2-3
2 The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me.’ 3 Now announce to the army, ‘Anyone who trembles with fear may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.’” So twenty-two thousand men left, while ten thousand remained.
2 تب خداوند نے جدعون سے کہا ، “میں تمہا رے آدمیوں کی مدد مدیانی لوگوں کو شکست دینے کے لئے کرنے جا رہا ہوں لیکن تمہا رے پاس اس کام کے لئے ضرورت سے زیادہ آدمی ہیں۔ میں نہیں چاہتا کہ بنی اسرا ئیل مجھے بھول جا ئیں اور شیخی کریں کہ انہوں نے صرف اپنی حفا ظت کی۔ 3 اس لئے اپنے لوگوں میں اعلان کرو کہ جو بھی جنگ سے ڈر رہا ہے اپنے گھر واپس جا سکتا ہے۔”
اس وقت ۰۰۰,۲۲ آدمیوں نے جِدعون کو چھو ڑا اور وہ اپنے گھر لوٹ گئے۔ لیکن پھر بھی ۰۰۰,۱۰ آدمی جنگ کا سامنا کرنے کے لئے تیار تھے۔
My point of view about above verses
Lord became very angry with Israel and said as this nation has violated the covenant I made with their ancestors – I will no longer drive other nations out and will test Israel through them whether they follow the way of the Lord as their ancestors did
God gave Gideon the resposibility to save Israelites from Midianites, Amalekites and other eastern peoples
So God told Gideon not all men will go for war against Midian otherwise they will boast against me that their own strength saved them – so any one who tremble with fear may leave so 22,000 men left
When we returns to God, he plans for our rescue, and His plans are always better -
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
