2 Chronicles ; Chapter 25 verse 16-20
16 While he was still speaking, the king said to him, “Have we appointed you an adviser to the king? Stop! Why be struck down?”
So the prophet stopped but said, “I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel.”
17 After Amaziah king of Judah consulted his advisers, he sent this challenge to Jehoash son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, king of Israel: “Come, let us face each other in battle.”
18 But Jehoash king of Israel replied to Amaziah king of Judah: “A thistle in Lebanon sent a message to a cedar in Lebanon, ‘Give your daughter to my son in marriage.’ Then a wild beast in Lebanon came along and trampled the thistle underfoot. 19 You say to yourself that you have defeated Edom, and now you are arrogant and proud. But stay at home! Why ask for trouble and cause your own downfall and that of Judah also?”
20 Amaziah, however, would not listen, for God so worked that he might deliver them into the hands of Jehoash, because they sought the gods of Edom.
6 جب نبی نے بو لا ، تو امصیاہ نے نبی سے کہا، “ہم نے کبھی تمہیں بادشا ہ کا مشیر نہیں بنایا خاموش رہو ! اگر تم خا موش نہ رہو گے تو مار دیئے جا ؤ گے۔” نبی خاموش ہو گیا۔تب اس نے کہا، “در حقیقت خدا نے طئے کیا ہے کہ تمہیں تباہ کرے۔کیونکہ تم نے بُرے کام کئے اور میری نصیحتوں کو نہیں سنا۔” 17 یہودا ہ کے بادشا ہ امصیاہ نے اپنے مشیروں سے بات کی تب اس نے ایک پیغام اسرائیل کے بادشا ہ یہوآس کو بھیجا۔ امصیاہ نے یہوآس سے کہا ، “ہمیں آمنے سامنے ملنا چا ہئے۔” یہوآس یہوآخز کا بیٹا تھا اور یہو آخز اسرائیل کا بادشا ہ یاہو کا بیٹا تھا۔
18 تب یہو آخز نے اس کا جواب امصیاہ کو بھیجا۔یہو آس اسرائیل کا بادشا ہ تھا اور امصیاہ یہودا ہ کا بادشاہ تھا۔ یہو آس نے یہ قصہ کہا: “لبنان کی ایک چھوٹی کانٹے دار جھاڑی نے لبنان کے ایک بڑے بلوط کے درخت کو پیغام بھیجا۔ چھو ٹی کانٹے دار جھاڑی نے کہا، ’اپنی بیٹی کی شادی میرے بیٹے سے کرو۔لیکن ایک جنگلی جانور نکلا اور کانٹے دار جھاڑی کو کچلا اور اسے تباہ کردیا۔ 19 تم یہ کہتے ہو ، ’میں نے ادوم کو شکست دی ہے !‘ تمہیں ا س کا غرور ہے اور اس لئے شیخی کی باتیں کرتے ہو لیکن تم کو گھر پر ٹھہرنا چا ہئے تم اپنے لئے مصیبت کیوں لانا چا ہتے ہو ؟ تم اور یہودا ہ تباہ ہو جا ؤگے۔” 20 لیکن امصیاہ نے سننے سے انکار کیا۔ یہ خدا کی طرف سے ہوا۔ خدا کی مرضی تھی کہ اسرائیلی یہوداہ کو شکست دیں کیوں کہ یہوداہ کے لوگ ان دیوتاؤں کی پرستش کر رہے تھے جیسے کہ ادوم کے لوگ کر تے تھے۔
My point of view about above verses
Man of God told people that God has power to overthrow or help
Amaziah served the gods of other people and God’s anger burned against him and He sent a prophet to him, who says why you serve the gods of other people who can’t save their own people from your hand
Amaziah didn't listened to advice of elders and fight with king of Israel – which overtook him as it was from God’s side
Our God knows how to handle our unfaitfulness and dis-obedieence
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
