 Jeremiah 24, verse 1-7

Two Baskets of Figs

After Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim king of Judah and the officials, the skilled workers and the artisans of Judah were carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the Lord showed me two baskets of figs placed in front of the temple of the Lord. ² One basket had very good figs, like those that ripen early; the other basket had very bad figs, so bad they could not be eaten.

³ Then the Lord asked me, “What do you see, Jeremiah?”

“Figs,” I answered. “The good ones are very good, but the bad ones are so bad they cannot be eaten.”

⁴ Then the word of the Lord came to me: ⁵ “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Like these good figs, I regard as good the exiles from Judah, whom I sent away from this place to the land of the Babylonians. ⁶ My eyes will watch over them for their good, and I will bring them back to this land. I will build them up and not tear them down; I will plant them and not uproot them. ⁷ I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.

اِنجِیر کی ٹوکریاں

1جب شاہِ بابل نبُوکدنضرؔ شاہِ یہُوداؔہ یکُونیاؔہ بِن یہُویقِیم کو اور یہُوداؔہ کے اُمرا کو کارِیگروں اور لُہاروں سمیت یروشلیِم سے اسِیر کر کے بابل کو لے گیا تو خُداوند نے مُجھ پر نُمایاں کِیا اور کیا دیکھتا ہُوں کہ خُداوند کی ہَیکل کے سامنے اِنجِیر کی دو ٹوکریاں دھری تِھیں۔ 2ایک ٹوکری میں اچّھے سے اچّھے اِنجِیر تھے۔ اُن کی مانِند جو پہلے پکتے ہیں اور دُوسری ٹوکری میں نِہایت خراب اِنجِیر تھے۔ اَیسے خراب کہ کھانے کے قابِل نہ تھے۔ 3اور خُداوند نے مُجھ سے فرمایا اَے یَرمِیاؔہ! تُو کیا دیکھتا ہے؟

اور مَیں نے عرض کی اِنجِیر۔ اچّھے اِنجِیر۔ نِہایت اچّھے اور خراب اِنجِیر۔ بُہت خراب۔ اَیسے خراب کہ کھانے کے قابِل نہیں۔

4پِھر خُداوند کا کلام مُجھ پر نازِل ہُؤا کہ 5خُداوند اِسرائیل کا خُدا یُوں فرماتا ہے کہ اِن اچّھے اِنجِیروں کی مانِند مَیں یہُوداؔہ کے اُن اسِیروں پر جِن کو مَیں نے اِس مقام سے کسدیوں کے مُلک میں بھیجا ہے کرم کی نظر رکُھّوں گا۔ 6کیونکہ اُن پر میری نظرِ عِنایت ہو گی اور مَیں اُن کو اِس مُلک میں واپس لاؤُں گا اور مَیں اُن کو برباد نہیں بلکہ آباد کرُوں گا۔ مَیں اُن کو لگاؤُں گا اور اُکھاڑُوں گا نہیں۔ 7اور مَیں اُن کو اَیسا دِل دُوں گا کہ مُجھے پہچانیں کہ مَیں خُداوند ہُوں اور وہ میرے لوگ ہوں گے اور مَیں اُن کا خُدا ہُوں گا اِس لِئے کہ وہ پُورے دِل سے میری طرف پِھریں گے۔ 

My point of view about above verses

When King of Judah and all skilled workers carried into exile by king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon – the Lord showed me 2 baskets of figs one with good figs & other bad that can’t be eaten

God told me like these good figs, I regard the exile from Judah, These people will return to their land – I will give them a heart and I will be their Lord and they will be my people as they will return to me with full heart

May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
