Leviticus 20 verse 9

Punishments for Sin

9 “‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death. Because they have cursed their father or mother, their blood will be on their own head.

My point of view about above verses

God is sovereign Lord and wants his highest level of creation (means human beings) to obey him

God has given such an importance to father and mother that he said if any one curses or think bad about their parents - such person should be put to death- & the killing of such person will not be a punishable act by God - So we can imagine that in God's sight parents are very important and children need to be respectful in thoughts and actions towards them -- as it is God's command and we need to obey it

He wants us to observe all his commandments - otherwise get ready for punishment -

May God inclined us to obey his words to lead our lives the way God wants us to live on this earth -

May God bless all those who are obeying His commandments
