Leviticus 27 verse 16 - 21
Redeeming What Is the Lord’s
16 “‘If anyone dedicates to the Lord part of their family land, its value is to be set according to the amount of seed required for it—fifty shekels of silver to a homer[of barley seed. 17 If they dedicate a field during the Year of Jubilee, the value that has been set remains. 18 But if they dedicate a field after the Jubilee, the priest will determine the value according to the number of years that remain until the next Year of Jubilee, and its set value will be reduced. 19 If the one who dedicates the field wishes to redeem it, they must add a fifth to its value, and the field will again become theirs. 20 If, however, they do not redeem the field, or if they have sold it to someone else, it can never be redeemed. 21 When the field is released in the Jubilee, it will become holy, like a field devoted to the Lord; it will become priestly property.
(16)اور اگر کوئی شخص اپنے مورُوثی کھیت کا کوئی حِصّہ خُداوند کے لِئے مُقدّ س قرار دے تو تُو قِیمت کا اندازہ کرتے وقت یہ دیکھنا کہ اُس میں کِتنا بِیج بویا جائے گا ۔ جِتنی زمِین میں ایک خومر کے وزن کے برابر جَو بو سکیں اُس کی قِیمت چاندی کی پچاس مِثقال ہو۔
(17)اگر کوئی سالِ یوبلی سے اپنا کھیت مُقدّس قرار دے تو اُس کی قِیمت جو تُو ٹھہرائے وُہی رہے گی۔
(18)پر اگر وہ سالِ یوبلی کے بعد اپنے کھیت کو مُقدّس قرار دے تو جِتنے برس دُوسرے سالِ یوبلی کے باقی ہوں اُن ہی کے مُطابِق کاہِن اُس کے لِئے رُوپَے کا حِساب کرے اور جِتنا حِساب میں آئے اُتنا تیری ٹھہرائی ہُوئی قِیمت سے کم کِیا جائے۔
(19)اور اگر وہ جِس نے اُس کھیت کو مُقدّس قرار دِیا ہے یہ چاہے کہ اُس کا فِدیہ دے کر اُسے چُھڑائے تو وہ تیری ٹھہرائی ہُوئی قِیمت کا پانچواں حِصّہ اُس کے ساتھ اَور مِلا کر دے تو وہ کھیت اُسی کا رہے گا۔
(20)اور اگر وہ اُس کھیت کا فِدیہ دے کر اُسے نہ چُھڑائے یا کِسی دُوسرے شخص کے ہاتھ اُسے بیچ دے تو پِھر وہ کھیت کبھی نہ چُھڑایا جائے۔
(21)بلکہ وہ کھیت جب سالِ یوبلی میں چُھوٹے تو وقف کِئے ہُوئے کھیت کی طرح وہ خُداوند کے لِئے مُقدّ س ہو گا اور کاہِن کی مِلکِیّت ٹھہرے گا۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Israelite that if someone vows to give his family land to the God by his own free will - as giving something to God by Vow is not a command but a free will of a person - For instance a person vows that he dedicates part of his family land to the God then its redemption value will be determined according to the potential production of the land till the Jubilee year
Jubilee year is the 50th year when Israelite has to set free any slaves or off set debts in cash and in kind to their fellow brethren -
If a person dedicate its land – then priest has to set its value – it is fifty shekel of silver to a homer. & later if he wants to redeem it then he has to add one fifth of its value to the value of land determined by priest - then the land will be his- the value of land will be determined according to jubilee year and if it is released in jubilee year it will become holy like a field devoted to the Lord. It will become priest property
Let God give us wisdom to understand his word and apply it in our lives
We need to live in this world as God wants us to live - we have to do what he is telling us to do- as it is in our advantage in the long run
