Leviticus 27 verse 22 - 25
Redeeming What Is the Lord’s
22 “‘If anyone dedicates to the Lord a field they have bought, which is not part of their family land, 23 the priest will determine its value up to the Year of Jubilee, and the owner must pay its value on that day as something holy to the Lord. 24 In the Year of Jubilee the field will revert to the person from whom it was bought, the one whose land it was. 25 Every value is to be set according to the sanctuary shekel, twenty gerahs to the shekel.
(22)اور اگر کوئی شخص کِسی خرِیدے ہُوئے کھیت کو جو اُس کا مورُوثی نہیں خُداوند کے لِئے مُقدّس قرار دے۔
(23)تو کاہِن جِتنے برس دُوسرے سالِ یوبلی کے باقی ہوں اُن کے مُطابِق تیری ٹھہرائی ہُوئی قِیمت کا حِساب اُس کے لِئے کرے اور وہ اُسی دِن تیری ٹھہرائی ہُوئی قِیمت کو خُداوند کے لِئے مُقدّس جان کر دے دے۔
(24)اور سالِ یوبلی میں وہ کھیت اُسی کو واپس ہو جائے جِس سے وہ خرِیدا گیا تھا اور جِس کی وہ مِلکِیّت ہے۔
(25)اور تیرے سارے قِیمت کے اندازے مَقدِس کی مِثقال کے حِساب سے ہوں اور ایک مِثقال بِیس جیراہ کا ہو۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Israelite that if someone vows to give a piece of land which he has bought from some one else and which has to go back to the original owner in the year of Jubilee - so for such land priest has to determine its value in Shekel (currency) and the owner has deposit this money as a holy offering to the Lord
Jubilee year is the 50th year when Israelite has to set free any slaves or off set debts / land in cash and in kind to their fellow brethren -
Gerahs is smallest unit of measurement and is equivalent to twentieth of Shekel - and about half a gram
Let God give us wisdom to understand his word and apply it in our lives
We need to live in this world as God wants us to live - we have to do what he is telling us to do- as it is in our advantage in the long run
