Numbers 3 ; verse 38 - 39
38 Moses and Aaron and his sons were to camp to the east of the tabernacle, toward the sunrise, in front of the tent of meeting. They were responsible for the care of the sanctuary on behalf of the Israelites. Anyone else who approached the sanctuary was to be put to death
39 The total number of Levites counted at the Lord’s command by Moses and Aaron according to their clans, including every male a month old or more, was 22,000
(38)اور مسکن کے آگے مشرِق کی طرف جِدھر سے سُورج نِکلتا ہے یعنی خَیمۂِ اِجتماع کے آگے مُوسیٰ اور ہارُون اور اُس کے بیٹے اپنے ڈیرے ڈالا کریں اور بنی اِسرائیل کے بدلے مَقدِس کی حِفاظت کِیا کریں اور جو اجنبی شخص اُس کے نزدِیک آئے وہ جان سے مارا جائے۔
(39)سو لاوِیوں میں سے جِتنے ایک مہِینے اور اُس سے اُوپر اُوپر کی عُمر کے تھے اُن کو مُوسیٰ اور ہارُون نے خُداوند کے حُکم کے مُوافِق اُن کے گھرانوں کے مُطابِق گِنا ۔ وہ شُمار میں بائِیس ہزار تھے۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Moses that Levites belongs to Him Levi one of the Israel's son - has three sons who are chosen by God to take care of tabernacle and its accessories - He assigned duties to decedents of Levi by name in detail who has to perform all works as per directions of the priest - and also they have to en-camp near tabernacle -
He told Moses to count all males above a month old- the total counted males were 22,000
God told Moses and Aaron & their families to en- camp east side of tabernacle in-front of tent of meeting-
He assigned specific duties to all Levites which they have to perform under supervision of Aaron and his sons - only Moses and Aaron and his sons can approach the most holy place
Our God is organized & want his people to organize themselves to achieve goals set by Him for our betterment
Let God give us wisdom to understand his word and apply it in our lives
