Numbers 18 ; verse 20-24
Offerings for Priests and Levites
20 The Lord said to Aaron, “You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any share among them; I am your share and your inheritance among the Israelites.
21 “I give to the Levites all the tithes in Israel as their inheritance in return for the work they do while serving at the tent of meeting. 22 From now on the Israelites must not go near the tent of meeting, or they will bear the consequences of their sin and will die. 23 It is the Levites who are to do the work at the tent of meeting and bear the responsibility for any offenses they commit against it. This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. They will receive no inheritance among the Israelites. 24 Instead, I give to the Levites as their inheritance the tithes that the Israelites present as an offering to the Lord. That is why I said concerning them: ‘They will have no inheritance among the Israelites.’”
20 خدا وند نے ہارون سے یہ بھی کہا ، “تم کوئی زمین حاصل نہیں کروگے اور ایسی کوئی چیز نہیں رکھو گے جیسی دوسرے لوگ رکھتے ہیں۔ میں خدا وند تمہارا رہوں گا۔ بنی اسرائیلی وہ ملک حاصل کریں گے جس کے لئے میں نے وعدہ کیا ہے۔ لیکن تمہارے لئے میں ہی تمہارا تحفہ ہوں گا۔
21 ”بنی اسرائیلیوں کے پاس جو کچھ ہوگا۔ وہ اس کا دسواں حصّہ دیں گے میں یہ دسواں حصہ لاوی نسل کو دونگا۔ یہ اُن کے اُس کام کے لئے ادائیگی ہے جو وہ خیمہٴ اجتماع میں خدمت کرتے ہیں۔ 22 لیکن اسرائیل کے دوسرے لوگوں کو خیمہٴ اجتماع کے قریب کبھی نہیں جا نا چاہئے۔اگر وہ ایسا کرتے ہیں تو وہ گناہ کے قصور وار ہوں گے۔ اور وہ مر جائیں گے۔ 23 جو لاوی نسل کے لوگ خیمہٴ اجتماع میں کام کر رہے ہیں وہ اُس کے خلاف کئے گئے گناہوں کے لئے جواب دہ ہیں۔ یہ اُصول ہمیشہ کے لئے رہے گا۔ لاوی نسل کے لوگ اس زمین کو نہیں لیں گے جسے میں نے اِسرائیل کے دوسرے لوگوں کو دیا ہے۔ 24 لیکن بنی اسرائیلیوں کے پاس جو کچھ ہوگا اُس کا دسواں حصہ مجھ کو دیگا۔اس طرح میں لاوی نسل کے لوگوں کو دسواں حصہ دونگا۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ میں نے لاوی نسلوں کے لئے کہا ہے : وہ لوگ اس زمین کو نہیں پائیں گے جسے میں نے بنی اسرائیلیوں کو دینے کا وعدہ کیا ہے۔”
My point of view about above verses
God told Aaron that you will have no inheritance and any share as – I am your share and your inheritance among Israelites. God gave Levities all the tithes of Israelites which they offered to God, in return for the work they perform at tent of meeting. No other Israelites has to go near the tent of meeting or they will die. Levites have to do the work at tent of meeting and bear the responsibility for any offence they commit against it. They have no inheritance among Israelites only tithes are their share.
How wonderful is for priests that God is their share as their inheritance - Let they be faithful to God to be worthy of this inheritance -
Thus all offerings to Lord belongs to Priests and their family members , this is arrangement of living made by God for priests and their families so that they can serve whole- heartedly to Him - we need to give our offerings to priests to obey God
Let God give us wisdom to understand His word and help us to apply it in our lives
