Numbers 22 ; verse 32-35
Balak Summons Balaam
Balaam’s Donkey
32 The angel of the Lord asked him, “Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? I have come here to oppose you because your path is a reckless one before me. 33 The donkey saw me and turned away from me these three times. If it had not turned away, I would certainly have killed you by now, but I would have spared it.”
34 Balaam said to the angel of the Lord, “I have sinned. I did not realize you were standing in the road to oppose me. Now if you are displeased, I will go back.”
35 The angel of the Lord said to Balaam, “Go with the men, but speak only what I tell you.” So Balaam went with Balak’s officials.
32 تب خداوند کا فرشتہ بلعام سے پو چھا ، “تم نے اپنے گدھے کو تین بار کیوں ما را ؟ میں خود تم کو روکنے آیا ہوں کیو نکہ تیرا راستہ میرے بر خلا ف ہے۔ 33 تیرے گدھے نے مجھے دیکھا اور وہ تین بار مجھ سے مُڑا۔ اگر گدھا مُڑا نہ ہو تا تو میں تم کو مار ڈالا ہو تا۔ لیکن میں تمہا رے گدھے کو نہیں مارتا۔”
34 تب بلعام نے خداوند کے فرشتے سے کہا ، “میں نے گنا ہ کیا ہے۔ میں یہ نہیں جانتا تھا کہ تم سڑک پر کھڑے ہو۔ اگر میں بُرا کرر ہا ہوں تو میں گھر واپس ہو جا ؤں گا۔”
35 خداوند کے فرشتے نے بلعام سے کہا ، “نہیں ! تم ان لوگوں کے ساتھ جا سکتے ہو۔ لیکن ہوشیار رہو۔ وہی باتیں کہو جو میں تم سے کہنے کیلئے کہوں گا۔ اس لئے بلعام بلق کے بھیجے گئے قائدین کے ساتھ گیا۔
My point of view about above verses
God asked Balaam (a non -Israelite prophet) who are these men with you - He told they are sent by king of Moab to curse Israelites
God told Balaam, don’t go with people of Moab as their king want you to curse Israelites, Don’t do this as they are blessed people
When Balak summon Balaam second time to curse Israelites – God allow him to go with him but told him to do only what God will tell him to do or say
Now Balaam is ready to go with Moabite officials but God was very angry and God’s angel stood in the road to oppose him. When donkey on which Balaam was riding saw Lord’s angel and turned from road into the field & Balaam get it back on the road
2nd time God’s angel stood in narrow path and donkey saw it and pressed close to wall, crushing Balaam’s foot - So Balaam beat the donkey again
After that angel of the Lord stood in way of donkey where is no escape to turn right & left and then donkey lay down under Balaam, Balaam got angry and beat him with his staff – Then Lord
opened the mouth of donkey and he asked Balaam why did you beat me three times
Donkey said to Balaam – Has I been habit of doing this whenever you want to have ride on me
After that God opened Balaam’s eyes and he saw Lord’s angel with sword standing in the road, So he bowed down
The angel asked Baalam why have you beaten your donkey three times – I came here to oppose you because your path is thoughtless – The donkey saw me & turned three times – if he didn't turned away I would certainly killed you – but I will not kill your donkey
Not only the kingdom of worlds are in God hands but all the people and even animals and He can use anything as He wants to - as He is the creator - sometimes even God get angry on people who seeks his permission to do certain things - like in case of Balaam but we are so busy to accomplish our missions that do not revisit the issue - Let ask God to be merciful - God is the one who can let animals speak to us, likes Balaam donkey speak to him, Only God can open our eyes and minds to grasp various issues - Let ask Him to guide us in all spheres of our lives - so that we only say and do what he wants us to do
Let God give us wisdom to understand His word and help us to apply it in our lives
