Deuteronomy 7 ; verse 1-6
Driving Out the Nations
When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations—the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, seven nations larger and stronger than you— 2 and when the Lord your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy. 3 Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons, 4 for they will turn your children away from following me to serve other gods, and the Lord’s anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you. 5 This is what you are to do to them: Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones, cut down their Asherah poles and burn their idols in the fire. 6 For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.
بنی اسرا ئیل خدا کے خاص لوگ
7 “خداوند تمہا را خدا تمہیں اس ملک میں لے جا ئے گا جسے اپنا بنا نے کے لئے تم اس میں جا رہے ہو۔ خداوند تمہا رے سامنے بہت ساری قوموں کو باہر نکالے گا : حتّی ، جر جا سی ، امو ری ، کنعانی ، فرزّی ، حوّی اور یبو سی یہ سات قومیں تم سے زیادہ عظیم اور زیادہ طاقتور ہیں۔ 2 خداوند تمہا را خدا ان قوموں کو تمہا رے حوا لے کرے گا اور تم انہیں شکست دو گے۔ تمہیں انہیں پو ری طرح تباہ کر دینا چا ہئے۔ ان کے ساتھ کو ئی معاہدہ نہ کرو ان پر کسی قسم کا رحم نہ کرو۔ 3 ان لوگوں میں سے کسی آدمی کے ساتھ شادی نہ کرو اور ا ن ریاستوں کے کسی آدمی کے ساتھ اپنے بیٹے اور بیٹیوں کی شادی نہ کرو۔ 4 کیوں ؟ کیوں کہ وہ لوگ تمہا رے بچوں کو خدا سے دور لے جا ئیں گے اس لئے تمہا رے بچے دوسرے خدا ؤں کی خدمت کریں گے اور خداوند تم پر بہت غصّہ کرے گا۔ وہ جلدی سے تمہیں تباہ کردے گا۔
جھُوٹے خدا ؤں کو تباہ کرو
5 “تمہیں اُن قوموں کے ساتھ یہ کرنا چا ہئے۔ تمہیں ان کی قربان گا ہیں تبا ہ کردینی چا ہئے اور مخصوص پتھروں کو ٹکڑے کر کے تو ڑ ڈالنا چا ہئے اُن کے یسیرت کے کھمبے کو کاٹ ڈا لو اور اُن کی مورتیوں کو جلا دو۔ 6 کیوں ؟ کیوں کہ تم خداوند کے اپنے لوگ ہو تمہیں دنیا کے سب لوگوں میں سے خداوند تمہا رے خدا نے خاص طور پر ایسے لوگ جو اس کے اپنے ہیں چُنا۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Israelites that when you possess land I am giving you don’t make any treaty with people living there – you must destroy them totally and show no mercy – don’t intermarry with them as they will turn away your children from following me – and My anger will burn against you and I will destroy you . So you have to brake down their altars, smash their sacred stones, cut their poles and burn their idols in fire. For you are people holy to your God, He has chosen you out of all people on face of earth to be his people – his treasured possession
If God choose someone - He / she has to refrain from idol worship, don't have any relation with people worshipping other than God, Chosen people are God's possession - and we should not destroyed His possession / property
Let God give us wisdom to understand His word and apply it in our lives - As this is the Word of God through which we recognize Him
