Deuteronomy 17 ; verse 18-20
The King
18 When he takes the throne of his kingdom, he is to write for himself on a scroll a copy of this law, taken from that of the Levitical priests. 19 It is to be with him, and he is to read it all the days of his life so that he may learn to revere the Lord his God and follow carefully all the words of this law and these decrees 20 and not consider himself better than his fellow Israelites and turn from the law to the right or to the left. Then he and his descendants will reign a long time over his kingdom in Israel.
My point of view about above verses
God told them if you set a king over you he must not be foreigner but an Israelites from among you, he must not take many wives or his heart will led astray- he must not accumulate large amount of silver and gold
When king takes the throne of his kingdom- he has to write for him a scroll – a copy of law taken from Levitical priests – he has to read this all the days of his life so that he learn to fear God and follow carefully all the words of this law and these decrees and not turn from right or left. Then he and his descendants will reign a long time
God tells us who should be king on his people, and He should act on laws and decrees given by God - by this way God will establish his role of kingship for many generations
If we remain faithful to God, He will never abandons us rather bless us with health and worldly blessings
Let God give us wisdom to understand His word and apply it in our lives - As this is the Word of God through which we recognize Him
