Judges; Chapter 3 Verse 5-11
5 The Israelites lived among the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. 6 They took their daughters in marriage and gave their own daughters to their sons, and served their gods.
Othniel
7 The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord; they forgot the Lord their God and served the Baals and the Asherahs. 8 The anger of the Lord burned against Israel so that he sold them into the hands of Cushan-Rishathaim king of Aram Naharaim,to whom the Israelites were subject for eight years. 9 But when they cried out to the Lord, he raised up for them a deliverer, Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother, who saved them. 10 The Spirit of the Lord came on him, so that he became Israel’s judge and went to war. The Lord gave Cushan-Rishathaim king of Aram into the hands of Othniel, who overpowered him. 11 So the land had peace for forty years, until Othniel son of Kenaz died.
5 بنی اسرا ئیل کنعانی ، حتّی ، اموری ، فرزّی ، حوّی اور یبوسی لوگوں کے ساتھ رہتے تھے۔ 6 بنی اسرائیلیوں نے ان لوگوں کی لڑکیوں کے ساتھ شادی کر نی شروع کردی۔ بنی اسرائیلیوں نے اپنی لڑکیوں کی اُن کے لڑ کوں کے ساتھ شادی کردی اور اسرائیل نے ان لوگوں کے خدا ؤں کی عبادت کی۔
پہلا منصف غتنی ایل
7 بنی اسرائیل نے ان کاموں کو کیا جسے خدا وند نے بُرا سمجھا۔ بنی اسرائیل خدا وند اپنے خدا کو بھول گئے اور جھوٹے دیوتا بعل اور یسیرت کی خدمت کرنے لگے۔ 8 خدا وند نے بنی اسرائیلیوں پر غصّہ کیا۔ خدا وند نے آرم نہارم کے کوشن رسعتیم کو ان لوگوں کو شکست دینے اور ان پر حکومت کرنے کے لئے بادشاہ بنایا۔ بنی اسرائیل اس بادشاہ کی حکومت میں ۸ سال تک رہے۔ 9 لیکن بنی اسرائیلیوں نے خدا وند کو رورو کر پکارا۔ خدا وند نے ایک آدمی کو اُن کی حفاظت کے لئے بھیجا۔ اس آدمی کا نام غتنی ایل تھا وہ قنز کا بیٹا تھا۔ قنز قالب کا چھوٹا بھائی تھا۔ غتنی ایل نے بنی اسرائیلیوں کو بچایا۔ 10 خدا وند کی روح غتنی ایل پر اُتری اور وہ بنی اسرائیلیوں کا قائد ہو گیا۔ غتنی ایل بنی اسرائیلیوں کا جنگ میں رہنما رہا۔ خدا وند نے غتنی ا یل کو آرم کے بادشاہ کوشن رسعتیم کو شکست دینے میں مدد کی۔ 11 اس طرح وہ ریاست ۴۰ سال تک پُر امن رہی جب تک کہ قنز نام کے آدمی کا بیٹا غتنی ایل نہیں مرا۔
My point of view about above verses
Lord became very angry with Israel and said as this nation has violated the covenant I made with their ancestors – I will no longer drive other nations out and will test Israel through them whether they follow the way of the Lord as their ancestors did
Anger of Lord burned against Israel as they served Baals and Asherahs so He sold them into the hands of king of Aram for eight years but when they cried to the Lord he raised up for them a deliverer Othniel, son of Kenaz – caleb’s younger brother - the spirt of Lord came on him so he became Isreal Judge and went for war – and overpowered king of Aram – so land have peace for 40 years till Otheniel died
If we worship someone else other than God, and not obey his commandments He will left us on the mercy of others and test us throuh other people - our life will become miserable
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
