Judges; Chapter 7 Verse 9-14
Now the camp of Midian lay below him in the valley. 9 During that night the Lord said to Gideon, “Get up, go down against the camp, because I am going to give it into your hands. 10 If you are afraid to attack, go down to the camp with your servant Purah 11 and listen to what they are saying. Afterward, you will be encouraged to attack the camp.” So he and Purah his servant went down to the outposts of the camp. 12 The Midianites, the Amalekites and all the other eastern peoples had settled in the valley, thick as locusts. Their camels could no more be counted than the sand on the seashore.
13 Gideon arrived just as a man was telling a friend his dream. “I had a dream,” he was saying. “A round loaf of barley bread came tumbling into the Midianite camp. It struck the tent with such force that the tent overturned and collapsed.”
14 His friend responded, “This can be nothing other than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, the Israelite. God has given the Midianites and the whole camp into his hands.”
9 تب اس رات خداوند نے جدعون سے باتیں کیں۔ خداوند نے اس سے کہا ، “اٹھو جدعون ! مدیانی لوگوں کی چھا ؤنی میں جا ؤ۔ میں تمہیں ان لوگوں کو شکست دینے دو ں گا۔ 10 لیکن تم اکیلے وہاں جانے سے ڈرتے ہو تو اپنے نوکر فوراہ کو اپنے ساتھ لے لو۔ 11 مدیانی لوگوں کے خیمہ میں جا ؤ اور سنو کہ وہ لوگ کیا باتیں کر رہے ہیں۔ جب تم یہ سن لو کہ وہ کیا کہہ ر ہے ہیں۔ تب تم اس خیمہ پر حملہ کر نے سے نہیں ڈرو گے۔”
اس لئے جدعون اور اس کا نوکر فوراہ دونوں دشمن کے خیمہ کے کو نے پر پہو نچے۔ 12 مدیانی ،عمالیقی اور مشرق کے دوسرے سب لوگ ا س وادی میں ڈیرہ ڈالے تھے۔ وہاں وہ اتنی بڑی تعداد میں تھے جیسا کہ ٹڈّی جھنڈ۔ ایسا ہوا کہ ان لوگوں کے پاس اتنے اونٹ تھے جتنے سمندر کے کنا رے ریت کے ذرّات۔
13 جب جدعون دشمنوں کے خیموں میں پہو نچا اس نے ایک آدمی کو باتیں کرتے سنا۔ وہ آدمی اپنے دیکھے ہو ئے خواب کو اسے بتا رہا تھا۔ وہ آدمی کہہ رہا تھا ، “میں نے یہ خواب دیکھا کہ مدیان کے لوگوں کے خیمہ میں ایک گول روٹی چکر کھا تی ہو ئی آئی اس رو ٹی نے خیمہ پر اتنی بڑی چوٹ کی کہ خیمہ پلٹ گیا اور گر کر بچھ گیا۔
14 اس آدمی کا دوست اس خواب کی تعبیرجا نتا تھا۔ وہ اس سے کہا ، “تمہا رے خواب کی صرف ایک ہی تعبیر ہے تمہا را خواب یو آس کے بیٹے جدعون بنی اسرا ئیلی کی طاقت کے بارے میں ہے۔ خدا جدعون کو مدیانی کی تمام فوج کو شکست دینے دے گا۔ ”
My point of view about above verses
Lord became very angry with Israel and said as this nation has violated the covenant I made with their ancestors – I will no longer drive other nations out and will test Israel through them whether they follow the way of the Lord as their ancestors did
God gave Gideon the resposibility to save Israelites from Midianites, Amalekites and other eastern peoples
So God told Gideon not all men will go for war against Midian otherwise they will boast against me that their own strength saved them – so any one who tremble with fear may leave so 22,000 men left
God told Gideon that there are still more men so I will reduce them more for you – only those will go with u for war which I will tell you
God told Gideon took men down to water & those who drink water like dogs with their tongues will go with you – so only 300 men drink water like this rest drink while their keens down with cupped hand
So God told Gideon with these 300 men I will handover Midianites to you – let the other people go home
God told Gideon if you are afraid to attack Midianites go down with your servant and listen what they are saying – so he went down, their camp was as thick as locusts – their camel could not be counted – however a man was telling a dream to his friend that a round loaf of bread struck the Midianiti camp with such force that it overturned and collapsed – his friend said it could be nothing than the sword of Gideon – God has given the whole Midianites camp into his hand
When we returns to God, he plans for our rescue, and His plans are always better - just trust and obey and all will go well - He knows human psyche as they want to listen or see to believe - and sometimes God let us see and listen to firm our believe as He did with Gideon - whom He used to rescue Israelites from Midiani people
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
