Judges; Chapter 7 Verse 15-25
15 When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he bowed down and worshiped. He returned to the camp of Israel and called out, “Get up! The Lord has given the Midianite camp into your hands.” 16 Dividing the three hundred men into three companies, he placed trumpets and empty jars in the hands of all of them, with torches inside.
17 “Watch me,” he told them. “Follow my lead. When I get to the edge of the camp, do exactly as I do. 18 When I and all who are with me blow our trumpets, then from all around the camp blow yours and shout, ‘For the Lord and for Gideon.’”
19 Gideon and the hundred men with him reached the edge of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just after they had changed the guard. They blew their trumpets and broke the jars that were in their hands. 20 The three companies blew the trumpets and smashed the jars. Grasping the torches in their left hands and holding in their right hands the trumpets they were to blow, they shouted, “A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!” 21 While each man held his position around the camp, all the Midianites ran, crying out as they fled.
22 When the three hundred trumpets sounded, the Lord caused the men throughout the camp to turn on each other with their swords. The army fled to Beth Shittah toward Zererah as far as the border of Abel Meholah near Tabbath. 23 Israelites from Naphtali, Asher and all Manasseh were called out, and they pursued the Midianites. 24 Gideon sent messengers throughout the hill country of Ephraim, saying, “Come down against the Midianites and seize the waters of the Jordan ahead of them as far as Beth Barah.”
So all the men of Ephraim were called out and they seized the waters of the Jordan as far as Beth Barah. 25 They also captured two of the Midianite leaders, Oreb and Zeeb. They killed Oreb at the rock of Oreb, and Zeeb at the winepress of Zeeb. They pursued the Midianites and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon, who was by the Jordan.
15 جس وقت جدعو ن نے خواب کے بارے میں سنا اور اس کی تعبیر سمجھا تو وہ خدا کے سامنے جھکا تب جدعو ن بنی اسرا ئیل کے خیمے میں واپس ہوا۔ جدعو ن نے لوگوں کو باہر بلا یا ، “تیار ہو جا ؤ۔ خداوند مدیانی لوگوں کو شکست دینے میں ہماری مدد کرے گا۔” 16 پھر جِد عون نے ۳۰۰ آدمیوں کو تین گروہوں میں تقسیم کیا۔ جِدعون نے ہر آدمی کو ایک بگل دی اور ایک خالی مرتبان دیا ہر ایک مرتبان میں ایک جلتی مشعل تھی۔ 17 جب جِد عون نے لوگوں سے کہا ، “مجھے دیکھتے رہو اور جو میں کروں وہی کرو۔ میرے پیچھے پیچھے دشمن کے خیموں کے کونے تک چلو جب میں خیمہ کے کونے پر پہونچ جاؤں ٹھیک وہی کرو جو میں کروں۔ 18 تم سبھی خیموں کو گھیر لو۔ میں اور میرے ساتھ کے سب لوگ اپنی بِگل بجائیں گے تو تم لوگ بھی اپنی بگل بجانا۔ تب ان الفاظ کے ساتھ خدا وند کے لئے اور جدعون کے لئے زور سے چلا ؤ۔”
19 اس طرح جدعون اور اس کے ساتھ کے ۱۰۰ آدمی دشمن کے کونے پر آئے وہ دشمن کے خیمہ میں ان کے پہریداروں کی تبدیلی کے بالکل بعد آئے۔ یہ آدھی رات کو ہوا جِدعون اور اسکے آدمیوں نے بِگل کو بجایا اور اپنے گھڑوں کو پھو ڑا۔ 20 تب جدعون کے تین گروہوں نے اپنی بگل بجائے اور اپنے مرتبانوں کو پھوڑا اُس کے لوگ اپنے بائیں ہاتھ میں مشعل لئے ہوئے اور دائیں ہاتھ میں بگل لئے ہوئے تھے۔ جب وہ لوگ بگل بجائے ، “تو چلائے ” ایک تلوار خدا وند کے لئے اور ایک تلوار جِدعون کے لئے۔
21 جِد عون کا ہر ایک آدمی خیمہ کے چاروں طرف اپنی جگہ پر کھڑا رہا لیکن خیموں کے اندر مدیانی لوگ چلاّنے اور بھاگنے لگے۔ 22 جب جِدعون کے ۳۰۰ آدمیوں نے اپنے بگل بجا ئے تو خدا وند نے مدیانی لوگوں کو آپس میں ایک دوسرے کو تلواروں سے مارنے دیا۔ دُشمن کی فوج بیت سطّہ کے شہر کو بھا گ گئی جو صریرات شہر کی طرف
وہ آدمی ابیل محولہ شہر کی سرحد تک بھا گے جو طبّات شہر کے قریب ہے۔
23 تب نفتالی ، آشر اورمنسّی کے خاندانوں کی فوجیں بلائی گئیں تھیں تب انہوں نے مدیانی لوگوں کا پیچھا کیا۔ 24 جِدعون نے افرائیم کے تمام پہاڑی علاقے میں قاصد بھیجے قاصدوں نے کہا ، “آگے آؤ اور مدیانی لوگوں پر حملہ کرو بیت برّہ تک دریا پر قبضہ کرو اور دریائے یردن پر ان مدیانی لوگوں کے وہاں پہونچنے سے پہلے کرو۔”
اس لئے انہوں نے افرائیم کے خاندانی گروہ کے سبھی لوگوں کو بلایا۔ انہوں نے بیت برّہ تک دریا پر قبضہ کیا۔ 25 افرائیم کے لوگوں نے مدیانی لوگوں کے دو قائدین کو پکڑا ان دونوں قائدین کا نام عوریب اور زئیب تھا۔ افرائیم کے لوگوں نے عوریب کو عوریب کی چٹان نامی جگہ پر مار ڈالا اور زئیب کو زیب کی مئے کی کولھو ں نامی جگہ پر مار ڈالا۔ افرائیم کے لوگوں نے مدیانی لوگوں کا پیچھا جاری رکھا۔ لیکن پہلے انہوں نے عوریب اور زئیب کے سروں کو کاٹا اور سروں کو جِد عون کے پاس لے گئے۔ جدعون دریائے یردن کو پار کرنے والے گھاٹ پر تھا۔
My point of view about above verses
Lord became very angry with Israel and said as this nation has violated the covenant I made with their ancestors – I will no longer drive other nations out and will test Israel through them whether they follow the way of the Lord as their ancestors did
God gave Gideon the resposibility to save Israelites from Midianites, Amalekites and other eastern peoples
So God told Gideon with only 300 men I will handover Midianites to you – let the other people go home
God told Gideon if you are afraid to attack Midianites go down with your servant and listen what they are saying – so he went down, their camp was as thick as locusts – their camel could not be counted – however a man was telling a dream to his friend that a round loaf of bread struck the Midianiti camp with such force that it overturned and collapsed – his friend said it could be nothing than the sword of Gideon – God has given the whole Midianites camp into his hand
When 300 men who went for war blew their trumpets and smashed the jars – the Lord caused the men throughout the camp to turn on each other with their swords
When we returns to God, he plans for our rescue, and His plans are always better - just trust and obey and all will go well -
He knows human psyche as they want to listen or see to believe - and sometimes God let us see and listen to firm our believe as He did with Gideon - whom He used to rescue Israelites from Midiani people - God rescued Israelites with only 300 men through Gideon
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
