2 Kings ; Chapter 17 verse 27 -28 & 35-39
27 Then the king of Assyria gave this order: “Have one of the priests you took captive from Samaria go back to live there and teach the people what the god of the land requires.” 28 So one of the priests who had been exiled from Samaria came to live in Bethel and taught them how to worship the Lord.
35 When the Lord made a covenant with the Israelites, he commanded them: “Do not worship any other gods or bow down to them, serve them or sacrifice to them. 36 But the Lord, who brought you up out of Egypt with mighty power and outstretched arm, is the one you must worship. To him you shall bow down and to him offer sacrifices. 37 You must always be careful to keep the decrees and regulations, the laws and commands he wrote for you. Do not worship other gods. 38 Do not forget the covenant I have made with you, and do not worship other gods. 39 Rather, worship the Lord your God; it is he who will deliver you from the hand of all your enemies.”
اس لئے اسور کے بادشاہ نے یہ حکم دیا :“تم نے کچھ کاہنوں کو سامریہ سے لیا تھا۔ ان میں سے ایک کاہن کو بھیجو۔ اس کاہن کو وہاں جانے اور رہنے دو۔ تب وہ کاہن لوگوں کو اس ملک کے خدا وند کے قانون کی تعلیم دیگا۔”
28 اس لئے کاہنوں میں سے ایک کاہن جسے اسوریوں نے سامریہ سے لے گئے تھے بیت ایل میں رہنے آیا۔ اس کاہن نے لوگوں کو سکھا یا کہ کس طرح خدا وند کی تعظیم کریں۔ 35 خدا وند نے بنی اسرائیلیوں سے ایک معاہدہ کیا۔ خدا وند نے انہیں حکم دیا کہ تمہیں دوسرے خدا ؤں کی تعظیم نہیں کرنی چاہئے۔ تمہیں انکی پرستش نہیں کرنی چاہئے اور نہ ہی خدمت کرنی چاہئے اور نہ ہی قربانی پیش کرنی چاہئے۔
36 لیکن تمہیں خدا وند کے کہنے پر چلنا چاہئے۔ خدا وند وہی خدا ہے جو تمہیں مصر سے نکال لایا ہے۔ خدا وند نے تمہیں اپنی عظیم طاقت سے بچا یا ہے۔ تم کو خدا وند کی عبادت اور خوف کرنا اور اس کو قربانی پیش کرنی چاہئے۔ 37 تمہیں اس کے ان اصول ، قانون تعلیمات اور احکامات جو اس نے تمہارے لئے لکھے ہیں کی پابندی اور اطاعت کرنی چاہئے۔ اور تمہیں ہر وقت ان چیزوں کی اطاعت کرنی چاہئے تمہیں دوسرے خداؤں کی تعظیم نہیں کرنی چاہئے۔ 38 تمہیں معاہدہ کو جو میں نے تم سے کیا ہے نہیں بھولنا چاہئے۔ تمہیں دوسرے خداؤں کی عزت نہیں کرنی چاہئے۔ 39 نہیں! تم صرف خدا وند اپنے خدا کی تعظیم کرو تب وہ تمہیں تمہارے سب دشمنوں سے بچائے گا۔
My point of view about above verses
King of Assyria bring people from Babylon and other areas in the towns of Samaria to replace Israelites but God send lions who kill some of the people as they are not worshipping God
Lord made a covenant with the Israelites and commanded them don’t worship any other gods or bow down to them, serve them or sacrifice to them – but to Lord who brought you out of Egypt with might
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
