 Jeremiah 20, verse 1-6

Jeremiah and Pashhur

When the priest Pashhur son of Immer, the official in charge of the temple of the Lord, heard Jeremiah prophesying these things, ² he had Jeremiah the prophet beaten and put in the stocks at the Upper Gate of Benjamin at the Lord’s temple. ³ The next day, when Pashhur released him from the stocks, Jeremiah said to him, “The Lord’s name for you is not Pashhur, but Terror on Every Side. ⁴ For this is what the Lord says: ‘I will make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends; with your own eyes you will see them fall by the sword of their enemies. I will give all Judah into the hands of the king of Babylon, who will carry them away to Babylon or put them to the sword. ⁵ I will deliver all the wealth of this city into the hands of their enemies—all its products, all its valuables and all the treasures of the kings of Judah. They will take it away as plunder and carry it off to Babylon. ⁶ And you, Pashhur, and all who live in your house will go into exile to Babylon. There you will die and be buried, you and all your friends to whom you have prophesied lies.’”

فشحُور کاہِن کے ساتھ یرمِیاہ کا جھگڑا

1فشحُور بِن اِمّیر کاہِن نے جو خُداوند کے گھر میں سردار ناظِم تھا یَرمِیاؔہ کو یہ باتیں نبُوّت سے کہتے سُنا۔ 2تب فشحُور نے یَرمِیاؔہ نبی کو مارا اور اُسے اُس کاٹھ میں ڈالا جو بِنیمِین کے بالائی پھاٹک میں خُداوند کے گھر میں تھا۔ 3اور دُوسرے دِن یُوں ہوا کہ فشحُور نے یَرمِیاؔہ کو کاٹھ سے نِکالا۔ تب یَرمِیاؔہ نے اُسے کہا کہ خُداوند نے تیرا نام فشحُور نہیں بلکہ مُجورمِسّاؔبِیب رکھّا ہے۔ 4کیونکہ خُداوند یُوں فرماتا ہے کہ دیکھ مَیں تُجھ کو تیرے لِئے اور تیرے سب دوستوں کے لِئے دہشت کا باعِث بناؤُں گا اور وہ اپنے دُشمنوں کی تلوار سے قتل ہوں گے اور تیری آنکھیں دیکھیں گی اور مَیں تمام یہُوداؔہ کو شاہِ بابل کے حوالہ کر دُوں گا اور وہ اُن کو اسِیر کر کے بابل میں لے جائے گا اور اُن کو تلوار سے  قتل کرے گا۔

اور مَیں اِس شہر کی ساری دَولت اور اِس کے تمام محاصِل اور اِس کی سب نفِیس چِیزوں کو اور یہُوداؔہ کے بادشاہوں کے سب خزانوں کو دے ڈالُوں گا۔ ہاں مَیں اُن کو اُن کے دُشمنوں کے حوالہ کر دُوں گا جو اُن کو لُوٹیں گے اور بابل کو لے جائیں گے۔ 6اور اَے فشحُور تُو اور تیرا سارا گھرانا اَسِیری میں جاؤ گے اور تُو بابل میں پُہنچے گا اور وہاں مَرے گا اور وہِیں دفن کِیا جائے گا۔ تُو اور تیرے سب دوست جِن سے تُو نے جُھوٹی نبُوّت کی۔ 

My point of view about above verses

Priest Pashhur who was in charge of temple of Lord heard Jeremiah prophesying, he had him beaten and put him on stock on upper temple – when he released him- he said listen what God says you will be a horror for Israelites and people of Judah - - I will give all Judah into the hands of king of Babylon – you will also go to Babylon – you Pashhur will die there and buried along with your friends to whom you have prophesied lies

May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
