2 Chronicles ; Chapter 20 verse 18-21
Jehoshaphat Defeats Moab and Ammon
18 Jehoshaphat bowed down with his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the Lord. 19 Then some Levites from the Kohathites and Korahites stood up and praised the Lord, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice.
20 Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.” 21 After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying:
•“Give thanks to the Lord,
for his love endures forever.”
18 یہو سفط بہت تعظیم سے جھکا اس کا چہرہ زمین پر ٹک گیا۔ اور تمام یہوداہ اور یروشلم کے رہنے والے لوگ خدا وند کے سامنے گِر گئے اور وہ سب خدا وند کی عبادت کئے۔ 19 قہات خاندانی گروہ کے لا وی اور قورا خاندان خدا وند اسرائیل کے خدا کی حمد کر نے کے لئے کھڑے تھے۔ اُنکی آوازیں بلند تھیں جب انہوں نے خدا وند کی حمد کی۔
20 یہو سفط کی فوج صبح سویرے تقوع کے ریگستان میں گئی۔ جب وہ آگے بڑھنا شروع کئے یہو سفط کھڑا ہوا اور کہا ، “تم یہوداہ اور یروشلم کے لوگو میری بات سنو! اپنے خدا وند خدا میں ایمان رکھو پھر تم مضبوطی سے کھڑے رہو گے خدا وند کے نبیوں میں ایما ن رکھو تم کامیاب ہو گے !”
21 یہو سفط نے لوگوں سے صلاح و مشورہ کیا پھر اس نے لوگوں کو اپنے مقدس لباس میں خدا وند کا گیت گانے اور خدا وند کی حمد کر نے کے لئے مقرر کیا۔ وہ فوج کے سامنے باہر گئے اور خدا وند کی حمد کئے اور انہوں نے گانا گایا :
“خدا وند کا شکر ادا کرو کیوں کہ اس کی سچی محبت ہمیشہ رہتی ہے۔”
My point of view about above verses
Lord was with Jehosaphat as he followed the ways of his father David and obeyed God’s commands and decrees
God's people seek help from God in situations of distress - They cry for help and God listens to His people
God fights for His people
We need to trust Him and give Him thanks always
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
