1Samuel ; Chapter 5 Verse 1-8
The Ark in Ashdod and Ekron
After the Philistines had captured the ark of God, they took it from Ebenezer to Ashdod. 2 Then they carried the ark into Dagon’s temple and set it beside Dagon. 3 When the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the Lord! They took Dagon and put him back in his place. 4 But the following morning when they rose, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the Lord! His head and hands had been broken off and were lying on the threshold; only his body remained. 5 That is why to this day neither the priests of Dagon nor any others who enter Dagon’s temple at Ashdod step on the threshold.
6 The Lord’s hand was heavy on the people of Ashdod and its vicinity; he brought devastation on them and afflicted them with tumors. 7 When the people of Ashdod saw what was happening, they said, “The ark of the god of Israel must not stay here with us, because his hand is heavy on us and on Dagon our god.” 8 So they called together all the rulers of the Philistines and asked them, “What shall we do with the ark of the god of Israel?”
مقدس صندوق فلسطینیوں کے لئے تکلیف دہ
5 فلسطینی خدا کا مقدس صندوق ابن عزر سے اُشدود لے گئے۔ 2 فلسطینی خدا کے مقدس صندوق کو دجون کی ہیکل میں لے گئے اور اسے دجون کے مجسمہ کے نزدیک رکھا۔ 3 دوسرے دن صبح اشدود کے لوگ دجون کے مجسمہ کو اوندھا پڑا دیکھ کر تعجب میں پڑ گئے۔ دجون خداوند کے مقدّس صندوق کے سامنے گرا ہوا تھا۔
اشدود کے لوگو ں نے دجون کے مجسمہ کو واپس اس جگہ پر رکھا۔ 4 لیکن دوسری صبح جب اشدود کے لوگ اٹھے انہوں نے پھر دجون کے مجسمہ کو دوبارہ زمین پر پا یا۔ دجون خداوند کے صندوق کے سامنے گرا ہوا تھا۔ اس دفعہ دجون کا سر اور ہا تھ ٹو ٹ کر چوکھٹ پر پڑا ہوا تھا۔ صرف دجون کا دھڑ ہی ایک ٹکڑے میں تھا۔ 5 یہی وجہ ہے کہ آج بھی دجون کے کا ہن اور لوگ جو اشدود میں دجون کی ہیکل میں جا تے ہیں تو جب وہ ہیکل میں داخل ہو تے ہیں تو چوکھٹ پر قدم نہیں رکھتے ہیں۔
6 خداوند نے اشدود کے آس پاس کے لوگو ں کی زندگی کو بہت دشوار بنا دیا تھا۔خداوند نے انہیں کئی تکلیفیں دیں وہ انکے جسم میں پھو ڑا پھنسی ہو نے کا سبب بنا۔ اسنے ان لوگو ں کو چوہیوں سے بھی ناک میں دم کر دیا تھا جو کہ ان کے سارے جہا زوں اورزمین میں دوڑتے تھے۔ وہ بہت زیادہ ڈر گئے تھے۔ یہ اشدود اور آس پاس کے لوگوں میں ہو ا۔ 7 اشدُدو کے لوگوں نے وہ دیکھا جو کچھ ہو رہا تھا۔ انہوں نے کہا ، “اسرا ئیل کے خدا کا مقدس صندوق یہاں نہیں رہ سکتا۔ خدا ہم کو اور ہمارے دیوتا دجون کو سزا دے رہا ہے۔”
8 اس لئے اشدود کے لوگوں نے سبھی فلسطینی قائدین کو ایک ساتھ بلا یا اور ان سے پو چھا، “ہمیں اسرا ئیل کے خدا کے مقدس صندوق کے ساتھ کیاکر نا چا ہئے۔”
My point of view about above verses
The God’s hand was heavy on people of Ashdod because of ark of God captured by Philistines - so they send it to other place -
If God is with you - Do not fear as He fights for you
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
