1Samuel ; Chapter 8 Verse 5-9
5 They said to him, “You are old, and your sons do not follow your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have.”
6 But when they said, “Give us a king to lead us,” this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord. 7 And the Lord told him: “Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. 8 As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you. 9 Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights.”
بزرگ قائدین نے سموئیل سے کہا ، “آپ کو محسوس کر نا چاہئے کہ آپ بہت بوڑھے ہو گئے ہیں اور آپ کے بیٹے آپکی راہوں پر نہیں چل رہے ہیں۔ اس لئے آپ سے التجا ہے کہ اب ہمیں ایک بادشاہ دوسری قوموں کی مانند ہم پر حکومت کرنے کے لئے دو۔”
6 سموئیل نے سوچا کہ ان لوگوں پر حکومت کر نے کے لئے بزرگوں کا بادشاہ سے التجا کر نا غلط ہے اس لئے اس نے خدا وند سے دعا کی۔ 7 خدا وند نے سموئیل سے کہا ، “لوگ جو کہتے ہیں وہ کرو انہوں نے تمہیں ردّ نہیں کیا انہوں نے مجھے اپنی بادشاہت سے ردّ کیا۔ 8 وہ ویسا ہی کر رہے ہیں جیسا وہ تب سے کرتے آرہے ہیں جب میں انکو مصر سے باہر لایا تھا۔ لیکن انہوں نے مجھے چھو ڑ دیا اور دوسرے دیوتاؤں کی خدمت کی۔ وہ تم سے بھی ویسا ہی کر رہے ہیں۔
9 اِس لئے لوگوں کی سنو اور وہ جو کہتے ہیں وہ ضرور کرو۔ تا ہم ان کو خبر دار کرو کہ بادشاہ ان لوگوں کے ساتھ کیا کر سکتا ہے۔”
My point of view about above verses
As Samuel grew old – Israelites told him appoint on us a king who can lead us as your sons don’t follow your ways – This displease Samuel but God told him do what they asked as its not you they have rejected but its me they have rejected as their king and this they are doing from the day I brought them out of Egypt forsaking me and serving other gods – however tell them what the king who will rule over them will demand from them
When we reject God and his kingship in our lives - we suffer
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
