1Samuel ; Chapter 16 Verse 4-7
Samuel Anoints David
4 Samuel did what the Lord said. When he arrived at Bethlehem, the elders of the town trembled when they met him. They asked, “Do you come in peace?”
5 Samuel replied, “Yes, in peace; I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Consecrate yourselves and come to the sacrifice with me.” Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.
6 When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, “Surely the Lord’s anointed stands here before the Lord.”
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
سموئیل نے وہی کیا جو خداوند نے اسے کرنے کو کہا تھا۔ سموئیل بیت اللحم گیا۔ بیت اللحم کے بزرگ ( قائدین ) ڈرسے کانپ گئے وہ سموئیل سے ملے اور پو چھے ، ’کیا آپ صلح کا پیغام لے کر آئے ہیں ؟”
5 سموئیل نے جواب دیا ، “ہا ں! میں صلح کے خیال سے خداوند کو قربانی نذرکرنے کے لئے آیا ہوں۔ اپنے آپ کو تیار کرو اور آؤ میرے ساتھ قربانی پیش کرنے میں حصہ لو۔” تب سموئیل نے یسّی کو اور اس کے بیٹوں کو پاک کیا اور قربانی کی نذرکے لئے مدعو کیا۔
6 جب یسیّ اور اس کے بیٹے آئے تو سموئیل نے الیاب کو دیکھا ، “سموئیل نے سو چا یقیناً یہی وہ آدمی ہے جسے خداوند نے چنا ہے۔ ”
لیکن خداوند نے سموئیل سے کہا ، “الیاب طویل القامت اور خوبصورت ہے۔ لیکن اس کے بارے میں ایسا مت سوچو کہ وہ لمبا ہے۔ خدا ان چیزوں کو نہیں دیکھتا جو لوگ دیکھتے ہیں۔ لوگ صرف آدمی کا ظا ہر دیکھتے ہیں لیکن خداوند اس کے دل کو دیکھتا ہے۔ الیاب صحیح آدمی نہیں ہے۔”
My point of view about above verses
God became angry with Saul as he did not act fully on the instructions given by God
Wr need to obey God with our heart, mind, soul and body and do not offer him anything from loot
God told Samuel, don’t mourn for Saul because I have chosen another King for Israel, Fill your horn with oil go to Jesse of Bethlehem – as I have chosen one of his sons to be king
God told Samuel as you are afraid from Saul so take a heifer with you and say I came to sacrifice to the Lord – I will show you what to do as you have to anoint the one I indicate
When Saul saw Eliab – a tall man, son of Jesse and thought that God choses him to be King but God said don’t consider his appearance as Lord does not look on things people look at, God looks at the heart
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
