1Samuel ; Chapter 16 Verse 8-12
Samuel Anoints David
8 Then Jesse called Abinadab and had him pass in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, “The Lord has not chosen this one either.” 9 Jesse then had Shammah pass by, but Samuel said, “Nor has the Lord chosen this one.” 10 Jesse had seven of his sons pass before Samuel, but Samuel said to him, “The Lord has not chosen these.” 11 So he asked Jesse, “Are these all the sons you have?”
“There is still the youngest,” Jesse answered. “He is tending the sheep.”
Samuel said, “Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives.”
12 So he sent for him and had him brought in. He was glowing with health and had a fine appearance and handsome features.
Then the Lord said, “Rise and anoint him; this is the one.”
تب یسی نے اس کے دوسرے لڑکے ابینداب کو بُلا یا۔ ابینداب سموئیل کے پاس آیا لیکن سموئیل نے کہا ، “نہیں یہ وہ آدمی نہیں جسے خداوند نے چُنا ہے ”
9 تب یسی نے سمّہ سے کہا کہ وہ سموئیل کے پاس آئے لیکن سموئیل نے کہا ، “نہیں خداوند نے اس آدمی کو بھی نہیں چُنا ہے۔ ”
10 یسّی نے اپنے ساتوں بیٹوں کو سموئیل کو دکھا یا لیکن سموئیل نے یسی سے کہا ، “خداوند نے ان میں سے کسی کو بھی نہیں چُنا ہے۔”
11 تب سموئیل نے یسی سے کہا ، “کیا تمہا رے سارے بیٹے ہیں ؟ ”
یسی نے جواب دیا نہیں میرا اور بھی ایک چھو ٹا بیٹا ہے لیکن وہ باہر ہے اور بھیڑوں کی دیکھ بھا ل کر رہا ہے۔
سموئیل نے کہا ، “اس کو بُلا ؤ ، یہاں لے آؤ ہم کھانے کے لئے نہیں بیٹھیں گے جب تک وہ یہاں نہ آئے۔”
12 یسی نے کسی کو اپنے چھو ٹے بیٹے کو بُلانے بھیجا۔ یہ بیٹا سُرخ چہرہ وا لا نوجوان تھا اور اسکی آنکھیں خوبصورت تھیں دراصل وہ بہت ہی خوبصورت تھا۔ خداوند نے سموئیل سے کہا ، “اٹھو اور اسے مسح (چنو) کرو وہ شخص یہی ہے۔”
My point of view about above verses
God became angry with Saul as he did not act fully on the instructions given by God
Wr need to obey God with our heart, mind, soul and body and do not offer him anything from loot
God told Samuel, don’t mourn for Saul because I have chosen another King for Israel, Fill your horn with oil go to Jesse of Bethlehem – as I have chosen one of his sons to be king
God told Samuel as you are afraid from Saul so take a heifer with you and say I came to sacrifice to the Lord – I will show you what to do as you have to anoint the one I indicate
When Saul saw Eliab – a tall man, son of Jesse and thought that God choses him to be King but God said don’t consider his appearance as Lord does not look on things people look at, God looks at the heart
Jesse called all his sons one by one and finally God told Samuel that rise and anoint the youngest one – he was glowing with health and had fine appearance
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
