1Samuel ; Chapter 16 Verse 15-23
David in Saul’s Service
15 Saul’s attendants said to him, “See, an evil spirit from God is tormenting you. 16 Let our lord command his servants here to search for someone who can play the lyre. He will play when the evil spirit from God comes on you, and you will feel better.”
17 So Saul said to his attendants, “Find someone who plays well and bring him to me.”
18 One of the servants answered, “I have seen a son of Jesse of Bethlehem who knows how to play the lyre. He is a brave man and a warrior. He speaks well and is a fine-looking man. And the Lord is with him.”
19 Then Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said, “Send me your son David, who is with the sheep.” 20 So Jesse took a donkey loaded with bread, a skin of wine and a young goat and sent them with his son David to Saul.
21 David came to Saul and entered his service. Saul liked him very much, and David became one of his armor-bearers. 22 Then Saul sent word to Jesse, saying, “Allow David to remain in my service, for I am pleased with him.”
23 Whenever the spirit from God came on Saul, David would take up his lyre and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him.
15 ساؤل کے خادموں نے اس کو کہا ، “خدا کی طرف سے ایک بد روح تم کو پریشان کر رہی ہے۔ 16 ہم کو حکم دو تاکہ ہم کسی کو تلاش کریں جو بربط بجاتا ہو۔ اگر بد روح خدا وند کی طرف سے تم پر آتی ہے تو یہ آدمی جب بربط بجائے گا اور وہ بد روح تم کو چھو ڑ دیگی اور تم خود کو بہتر محسوس کروگے۔”
17 اس لئے ساؤل نے اپنے خادموں سے کہا ، “جاؤ اور ایک ایسے آدمی کو تلاش کرو جو اچھی طرح بربط بجا سکے اور اسے میرے پاس لاؤ۔”
18 خادموں میں سے ایک نے کہا ، “ایک آدمی کو میں جانتا ہوں جس کا نام یسّی ہے بیت اللحم میں رہتا ہے۔ میں نے یسّی کے بیٹے کو دیکھا وہ اچھی طرح سے بربط بجا سکتا ہے۔ وہ بہادر بھی ہے اور اچھی طرح لڑ تا ہے۔ وہ ہوشیار ہے اور خوبصورت ہے اور خدا وند اسکے ساتھ ہے۔”
19 اس لئے ساؤل نے یسّی کے پاس قاصد بھیجے۔ انہوں نے یسّی سے کہا ، “تمہارا ایک لڑ کا داؤد نام کا ہے جو تمہاری بھیڑوں کی رکھوالی کرتا ہے اس کو میرے پاس بھیجو۔”
20 پھر یسّی نے ساؤل کے لئے کچھ تحفہ تیاّر کئے۔ یسّی نے ایک گدھا کچھ روٹی اور مئے کی بوتل اور بکری کا بچہ لیا۔ یسّی نے وہ چیزیں داؤد کو دیں اور اس کو ساؤل کے پاس بھیجا۔ 21 اس طرح داؤد ساؤ ل کے پاس گیا اور اس کے سامنے کھڑا ہوا۔ ساؤل نے داؤد کو بہت چاہا پھر ساؤل نے داؤد کو اپنا مدد گار بنا لیا۔ 22 ساؤل نے یسّی کو خبر بھیجی کہ داؤد کو میری خدمت کے لئے رہنے دو میں اس کو بہت پسند کرتا ہوں
23 جب کسی بھی وقت خدا کی طرف سے بد روح ساؤل پر آتی تو داؤد اسکی بربط لے کر بجاتا۔ بد روح ساؤل کو چھوڑ دیتی اور وہ بہتر محسوس کرتا۔
My point of view about above verses
God became angry with Saul as he did not act fully on the instructions given by God
Wr need to obey God with our heart, mind, soul and body and do not offer him anything from loot
When Samuel anoint David in presence of his brothers- spirit of Lord came powerfully upon him
Spirit of Lord departed from Saul and an evil spirit from Lord tormented him
When evil spirit comes on Saul – David take up his lyre and play – Then relief comes to Saul and he would feel better and evil spirit leaves him
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
