2Samuel ; Chapter 12 Verse 15- 18

15 After Nathan had gone home, the Lord struck the child that Uriah’s wife had borne to David, and he became ill. 16 David pleaded with God for the child. He fasted and spent the nights lying in sackcloth on the ground. 17 The elders of his household stood beside him to get him up from the ground, but he refused, and he would not eat any food with them.

David pleaded with God for the child – he fasted and prayed but Lord struck the child

18 On the seventh day the child died.

داؤد اور بت سبع کے نو مولود بچّے کی موت

15 تب ناتن گھر گیا اور خدا وند نے داؤد اوریاہ کی بیوی سے جو بیٹا ہوا تھا اس کو بہت بیمار کردیا۔ 16 داؤد نے بچّے کے لئے خدا سے دعا کی۔ داؤد نے کھا نے اور پینے سے انکار کر دیا وہ اپنے گھر میں گیا اور وہاں ٹھہرا وہ ساری رات فرش پر پڑا رہا۔

17 داؤد کے خاندان کے قائدین آئے اور داؤد کو فرش سے اٹھا نے کی کوشش کئے لیکن داؤد نے اٹھنے سے انکار کیا۔ اس نے قائدین کے ساتھ کھانا کھا نے سے انکار کیا۔ 18 ساتویں دن بچّہ مر گیا۔

My point of view about above verses

David showed his love and reverence towards God - and God responded by making his name in the world and his kingdom in world will never cease - This is God's promise to David

When David bring Uriah’s wife to his house he displeased the Lord -

God became angry with David because he took the wife of Uriah the Hittite and killed him with the sword of Ammonites. God punished David and said Now therefore the sword will never depart from your house as you despised me

God told Nathan tell David that I will take your wives and gave to others and he will sleep with you wives in broad day light, I will do this this thing in broad daylight before all Israel

Nathan told David that Lord has taken away your sin – you are not going to die but the son born to you will die

God is just and He want everyone to obey Him fully - otherwise His punishment is harsh

May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
