1 Kings ; Chapter 17 Verse 17-24
Elijah Announces a Great Drought
17 Some time later the son of the woman who owned the house became ill. He grew worse and worse, and finally stopped breathing. 18 She said to Elijah, “What do you have against me, man of God? Did you come to remind me of my sin and kill my son?”
19 “Give me your son,” Elijah replied. He took him from her arms, carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his bed. 20 Then he cried out to the Lord, “Lord my God, have you brought tragedy even on this widow I am staying with, by causing her son to die?” 21 Then he stretched himself out on the boy three times and cried out to the Lord, “Lord my God, let this boy’s life return to him!”
22 The Lord heard Elijah’s cry, and the boy’s life returned to him, and he lived. 23 Elijah picked up the child and carried him down from the room into the house. He gave him to his mother and said, “Look, your son is alive!”
24 Then the woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the Lord from your mouth is the truth.”
ایلیاہ اور بارش کا نہ ہونا
17 کچھ عرصہ بعد عورت کا لڑ کابیمار ہوا وہ زیادہ سے زیادہ بیمار ہوتا گیا۔ آخر کار لڑ کے کی سانس بند ہوگئی۔ 18 اور عورت نے ایلیاہ سے کہا ، “تم ایک خدا کے آدمی ہو کیا تم میری مدد کرسکتے ہو ؟ یا تم مجھے میرے گناہوں کو یاد دلانے کے لئے یہاں آئے ہو ؟ کیا تم یہاں صرف میرے بیٹے کو مروانے کے لئے آئے ہو ؟”
19 ایلیاہ نے اس کو کہا، “تمہارے بیٹے کو مجھے دو۔” ایلیاہ نے لڑ کے کو اس سے لیا اور اوپر گیا۔ اس نے اس کو اس کمرے میں بستر پر لٹا دیا جہاں وہ ٹھہرا تھا۔ 20 تب ایلیاہ نے دعا کی ، “خدا وند میرے خدا اس بیوہ نے مجھے اپنے گھر میں رہنے دیا ہے۔ کیا تو اس کے ساتھ یہ برا سلوک کریگا ؟” کیا تو اسکے بیٹے کو مرنے دیگا ؟” 21 پھر ایلیاہ لڑ کے کے اوپر تین دفعہ لیٹا ایلیاہ نے دعا کی ، “خدا وند میرے خدا برائے مہربانی اس لڑ کے کو دوبارہ زندگی دے۔”
22 خدا وند نے ایلیاہ کی دعا سن لی۔ لڑ کا دوبارہ سانس لینے لگا وہ اب زندہ تھا۔ 23 ایلیاہ لڑ کے کو سیڑھیوں سے نیچے لایا۔ اس نے لڑ کے کو اس کی ماں کے حوالے کیا ، “دیکھو تمہارا بیٹا زندہ ہے۔”
24 عورت نے جواب دیا ، “سچ مچ اب میں جانتی ہوں کہ تم خدا کے آدمی ہو۔” میں جانتی ہوں خدا وند تمہارے ذریعہ سے کہتا ہے۔”
My point of view about above verses
God told Elijah to go eastward and hide in Kerith Ravine, east of Jordan – you will drink from the brook and raven will supply you food
When the brook dried up God told Elijah go to a widow living in Zarephat of Sidon region and stay there- I have directed a widow there to supply you with food – When he reached there he asked the widow to give me water and a piece of bread but she said she has a little oilve oil and some floor – he told him go and first make a loaf for me & then for yourself and your son as God told that this floor and oil will not finish until I send rain on the land
Jar of flour and jug of oil did not run dry according to the word of Lord spoken through Elijah
God heard Elijah’s cry regarding life of widow’s son and he handed him alive to widow
Its God only Who is provider - & nothing finishes until He desires so - so lets be in continous connection with Him to live a life He wants us to live and He hears the cries of those who cry with pure heart
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
