Elijah and Obadiah
Elijah on Mount Carmel
30 Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come here to me.” They came to him, and he repaired the altar of the Lord, which had been torn down. 31 Elijah took twelve stones, one for each of the tribes descended from Jacob, to whom the word of the Lord had come, saying, “Your name shall be Israel.” 32 With the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord, and he dug a trench around it large enough to hold two seahs of seed. 33 He arranged the wood, cut the bull into pieces and laid it on the wood. Then he said to them, “Fill four large jars with water and pour it on the offering and on the wood.”
34 “Do it again,” he said, and they did it again.
“Do it a third time,” he ordered, and they did it the third time. 35 The water ran down around the altar and even filled the trench.
30 تب ایلیاہ نے تمام لوگوں سے کہا ، “اب میرے پاس آؤ اس لئے سب لوگ ایلیاہ کے اطراف جمع ہو ئے۔خداوند کی قربان گا ہ اکھاڑ دی گئی تھی۔” اس لئے ایلیاہ نے اس کو ٹھیک کیا۔ 31 ایلیاہ نے بارہ پتھر حاصل کئے۔ ایک پتھر ہر بارہ خاندانی گروہ کے لئے تھا۔ یہ بارہ خاندانی گروہ کانام یعقوب کے بارہ بیٹوں کے نام سے تھے۔ یعقوب وہ آدمی تھا۔ جسے خداوند نے اسرائیل نام دیا تھا۔ 32 ایلیاہ نے قر بان گاہ کو بنا نے کے لئے اور خداوندکی تعظیم کے لئے ان پتھروں کو استعمال کیا۔ ایلیاہ نے ایک چھوٹا خندق قربان گا ہ کے اطراف کھو دا۔ جو اتنا گہرا اور چوڑاتھا کہ اس میں ۷ گیلن پانی سما سکتا تھا۔ 33 تب ایلیاہ نےقربان گا ہ پر لکڑیاں رکھیں اس کے سانڈ کو کاٹ کر ٹکڑے کئے اور ٹکڑوں کو لکڑی پر رکھا۔ 34 تب ایلیاہ نے کہا ، “چار مرتبان پانی بھرو۔ پانی کو گوشت کے ٹکڑو ں اور لکڑی پر ڈا لو۔” پھر ایلیاہ نے کہا ، “دوبارہ کرو۔” پھر اس نے کہا ، “تیسری بار کرو۔” 35 پانی قربان گا ہ سے بہنے لگا اور کھا ئی بھر گئی۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Elijah – go and present yourself to Ahab and I will send rain on the land and he did so
God used Elijah to speak to king and Baal prophets and other people
Its God only Who uses us for specific purpose - question is are we receptive to listen God so lets be in continous connection with Him to live a life He wants us to live - just to obey Him and wonders happen
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
