1 Kings ; Chapter 19 Verse 14-18
The Lord Appears to Elijah
14 He replied, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.”
15 The Lord said to him, “Go back the way you came, and go to the Desert of Damascus. When you get there, anoint Hazael king over Aram. 16 Also, anoint Jehu son of Nimshi king over Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from Abel Meholah to succeed you as prophet. 17 Jehu will put to death any who escape the sword of Hazael, and Elisha will put to death any who escape the sword of Jehu. 18 Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel—all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him.”
14 ایلیا ہ نے کہا ، “خداوندخدا قادر مطلق جتنا مجھ سے بہتر ہو سکا میں نے ہمیشہ تیری خدمت کی لیکن بنی اسرائیلیوں نے تیرے ساتھ معاہدہ کو توڑا انہوں نے تیری قر بان گاہوں کو برباد کیا۔ انہوں نے تیرے نبیو ں کو مار ڈا لا صرف میں ایک نبی زندہ رہ گیا ہوں اور اب وہ مجھے مارڈا لنے کی کوشش کر رہے ہیں۔”
15 خداوندنے کہا ، “واپس ا س سڑک پر جا ؤ جو دمشق کے اطراف کے ریگستان کو جا تی ہے۔ دمشق کو جا ؤ اور حزائیل کو ارام کے بادشاہ کی حیثیت سے مسح کرو۔ 16 پھر نمسی کے بیٹے یا ہو کا بحیثیت اسرائیل کے بادشاہ کے مسح کرو۔ پھر ا بیل محولہ کے سافط کے بیٹے الیشع کا مسح کرو وہ نبی ہو گا اور تمہا ری جگہ لے گا۔ 17 حزا ئیل کئی بڑے لوگو ں کو مار ڈا لے گا۔ یا ہو ہر اس آدمی کو مار ڈا لے گا جو حزا ئیل کی تلوار سے بھا گے گا۔ اور الیشع ہر اس آدمی کو مار ڈا لے گا جو یا ہوکی تلوار سے بھا گے گا۔ 18 ( ایلیاہ ! صرف تم ہی اسرائیل میں وفادار آدمی نہیں ہو۔) وہ آدمی کئی آدمیوں کومار ڈا لیں گے۔ لیکن اس کے باوجود
بھی ۷۰۰۰ لوگ اسرائیل میں رہیں گے جو بعل کے آگے نہیں جھکے گی۔ ان ۷۰۰۰ آدمیوں کو زندہ رہنے دوں گا اور ان لوگوں میں کسی نے بھی بعل کو کبھی نہیں چوما۔ ”
My point of view about above verses
Elijah became afraid after killing Jazabel prophets and as She was determined to kill Elijah then God take care of Him through His angel
Elijah ran for his life prayed that he might die – when he lay down angel of Lord touched him and give him food to eat – which he ate and slept again, second time angel touched him again and said eat as the journey you are going take is heavy – so with this food he travelled for 40 days until he reached Horeb, mountain of God – there he went into a cave and spent night there
When Elijah told God that he is the only prophet left in Israelites and now they want to kill me as I have zealous for the God – He said to him go and stand in presence of Lord on a mountain for the Lord is about to pass by
When Elijah stand on mountain – powerful wind tore down the mountains but the Lord was not in wind – after wind there was a earthquake, Lord was not in it too – then a fire came & lord was not in it – then a gentle breeze came – Elijah heard it – he pulled his cloak over his face and stood at the mouth of cave and a voice said to him – what you are doing here
God told Elijah go back the way you came into desert of Damascus – then anoint Hazael king over Aram and Jehu over Israel and Elisha to succeed you as prophet – I have reserved 7000 from Israelites who didn't worship Baal
So God never leaves us and help us in distress if our purposes are aligned with His will or purpose
Its God only who is all knowing and He tell us what to do and how to procced
- question is are we receptive to listen God so lets be in continous connection with Him to live a life He wants us to live - just to obey Him and wonders happen
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
