2 Kings ; Chapter 1 Verse 11- 15
The Lord’s Judgment on Ahaziah
11 At this the king sent to Elijah another captain with his fifty men. The captain said to him, “Man of God, this is what the king says, ‘Come down at once!’”
12 “If I am a man of God,” Elijah replied, “may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men!” Then the fire of God fell from heaven and consumed him and his fifty men.
13 So the king sent a third captain with his fifty men. This third captain went up and fell on his knees before Elijah. “Man of God,” he begged, “please have respect for my life and the lives of these fifty men, your servants! 14 See, fire has fallen from heaven and consumed the first two captains and all their men. But now have respect for my life!”
15 The angel of the Lord said to Elijah, “Go down with him; do not be afraid of him.” So Elijah got up and went down with him to the king.
11 اخزیاہ نے دوسرے سپہ سالار کو ۵۰ آدمیو ں کے ساتھ ایلیاہ کے پاس بھیجا۔ سپہ سالار نے ایلیاہ سے کہا ، “خدا کا آدمی ، بادشاہ کہتا ہے جلدی سے نیچے آؤ !”
12 ایلیاہ نے سپہ سالار اور ۵۰ آدمیوں سے کہا ، “اگر میں خدا کا آدمی ہوں جنّت سے آ گ کو نیچے آنے دو تا کہ تم کو اور پچاس آدمیوں کو تباہ کرے۔”
تب خدا کی آ گ جنت سے نیچے آئی اور سپہ سالار اور اسکے ۵۰ آدمیوں کو تباہ کردی۔
13 اخزیاہ نے تیسرے سپہ سالار کو بھیجا۔ تیسرا سپہ سالا رایلیاہ کے پاس آیا ، سپہ سالار اپنے گھٹنوں کے بل نیچے گِرا سپہ سالار ایلیاہ سے گڑ گڑ اتے ہو ئے کہا ، “اے خدا کے آدمی میں تم سے التجا کرتا ہوں براہ کرم مجھ پر اور اپنے اس پچاس خادمو ں پر رحم کر۔ میری اور انکی زندگیوں کو بخش دے۔ 14 جنت سے آ گ نیچے آئی تھی اور پہلے دو سپہ سالاروں اور انکے ۵۰ آدمیوں کو تباہ کردی تھی لیکن اب رحم کرو اور ہم کو زندہ رہنے دو۔”
15 خدا وند کے فرشتے نے ایلیاہ سے کہا ، “سپہ سالار کے ساتھ جاؤ اس سے ڈرو مت۔”
اس لئے ایلیاہ سپہ سالار کے ساتھ بادشاہ اخزیاہ سے ملنے گیا۔
My point of view about above verses
Its God who leads his people through his prophets - who spoke to kings on behalf of God - Our aim should be to stay in touch with Him to ask
King sent one captain & 50 men to get down Elijah from mountain and when he asked him to come down man of God – he said if I am man of God then fire should come from heaven and consume all of you – this happen two times – 3rd time the captain went up to hill to Elijah and said have respect for my life and of these 50 men who are with me – Then God told Elijah go with him to the King
Its God who uses prophets to prophecy for good or bad - we need to listen Him through His word spoken by prophets
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
